Fantastic car and review. I’m so grateful to have presenters here who can discuss and appreciate all sorts of cars without playing into biases in car subcultures. Your channel is criminally underrated! What an iconic sound.

Thank you. I'm sure we have our own biases and prejudices, no doubt shaped by our background and environment. But we appreciate your support. The sad thing is we found that glorious cars like this generate very little interest to the gods of the YT algorithm compared to, for example, a cheap hot hatch. But we'll plug on regardless with the fancy ones when they become available, thanks to afficionados like Peter, the owner of the R8 LMS.

@ I think you guys do an excellent job balancing the types of cars on the channel, and it’s unfortunate the algorithm plays its own game. Certainly grateful to owners willing to share their cars. We need more presenters like you who can appreciate everything from V10s to small EVs, and respect their different places in the world over time - it’s the only way we’ll get past this ape-brain division that’s going on. Thanks!

Thanks for your thoughts, it really was an incredible car. As Stu mentioned it’s sometimes frustrating that these cars don’t get the views we ( at least ) think they should. We are fortunate to have access to some amazing cars that are often underviewed, if that’s a word ! Cheers

I can admire the engineering - however the existence of a car that really cannot be enjoyed like a car should and being considered more of an investment than a source of induldgence - kind of escapes me. Love the channel BTW!

I’ve just come across your channel in looking to buy a 928. I have a couple of gen - R8s (manual v8 and v10) but this LMX is special - I toured the R8 factory when all 99 of these were on the production line. After the last one rolled off the line they re tooled the factory for the gen 2 shape car. Been looking for an LMX for sale for ages

Wow. After owning a few R8s, a 928 is going to seem very 'last century', which indeed it is. In performance terms, don't set your expectations too high. Lovely cars, as you know I'm very attached to Porsche 928s, but the R8 is in a different league.

@@9and3 Wow. What a collection Aron. I just subscribed and look forward to viewing all your content. Last century I worked for JADE Software, your great Kiwi software company, so I did spend some time in Christchurch pre quake. Great place and innovative company. Always enjoyed visiting. And yes, am planning on doing some content out at Rodin, so yeah baby. Be great to catch up with a like-minded Kiwi would doesn't see classic petrol and high performance EVs as being "either one or other, choose your team".

Mark dismissing any thought of a conversation about the R8 being comparable to an EV....gold! Don't even try Stu. It's just gonna piss people off....haha

$50k or $28k each for a headlight? WTF. That is just insane. It really discourages people from actually using the cars. I wonder if they’ll end up like so many Ferraris that are decades old but with the bulk km on them being those driving to and from getting a service on it, eg 1989 model cars with ~2500km on them.
@inCARnationAustralia5 ай бұрын
Yes a good way of ensuring such cars remain in garages rather than being driven. No wonder you just don't see them on the road. Makes Porsche 928 parts seem positively reasonable. Which in turn makes me feel even better about my 928 EV project. I know that if something gets damages or breaks, or even just a wheel or front bar getting scraped it won't cost a bomb to fix. And a good chance I'll be able to find the bits worldwide somewhere. So I won't stress about parking it at Westfield, or just driving it on our potholed roads. But I'd still love a R8 V10.
