@@waitotong9590 Kinda like how BMW’s V10 and V8 sounded somewhat alike in higher revs. I’m not sure if they’re based off one another but they damn sure sound similar in high revs to me atleast. If I’m not mistaken, this V8 was based off the 5.2 V10 most likely.

There might be faster 4 cyls out there and whatever else , but there’s something about the sound and drive of this vehicle , my Gti accelerates to 279kph just with apr stage 2 , however my next goal is to have a RS5 with a full IPE system

No road going user is ever going to get the limits of any of those engines. V8 engines are far more fun down at realistic road conditions. On a track faster laps times might be achieved on a 4 cylinder modern sports car but would it be more fun?

bighand69 what I mean is RS5 IPE is actually slower than a worked and boosted 4 cyl but you enjoy the engine notes more of a v8

One thing I hated about the engine was the lack of torque ! 450hp with only 295 lb-ft... imagine it had atleast another 100 or so lb-ft those are amateur numbers but the sound of a N/A V8 will always be music to my ears

@themobbkillas It was not an issue for that engine becauses there was no lag like Turbo cars have. You could easily scream out the V8 engine on a road which would be difficult for V6 turbo engines. That is why modern turbo Porsche cars are horrible.

You should study something about TQ/Power High-reving engines have not high torque, because they have power. F1 has also minimum tq, but ut has power

j edwards - The only way that an RS5 would sound similar to a new M3 is if you replaced the normally aspirated 4.2 V8 with a high performance diesel engine. As someone who has driven both cars, the M3/M4 has one of the most disappointing engine notes I've ever heard/witnessed in a high performance petrol car barring maybe a Nissan GT-R. The M3/M4 sounds like a diesely bag of nails. Even the three cylinder i8 sounds considerably better than it. Whilst the E92 M3 is slower, the V8 had infinitely more character than the Turbocharged Straight 6.

Bmw e92 is NOT better. 1 aspect from the bmw is better and that's the handling. Looks are dated along with the interior. Performance wise there as close as it gets. With regards to manual or paddle shift, u physically can't change gear manually faster. Lol and how much lighter is the m3 , honestly just another bunch of bmw fan boys

Honestly? Both engines are awesome, high revving screamers, and they have their own share of problems. The Audi 4.2 FSI eats oil like a motherfucker (one guy in Poland had his RS5 eating like 1L/500km - that is basically topping up oil on every fuel refill =)))) + timing system issues + carbon buildup problems + not holding the factory power claim. BMW M3's S65 engine is better in this comparison but still, their rod bearings and vanos problems are real too.

my family are bmw fans. we've owned just about every bmw in the line up. currently my father owns a bmw alpina b7 and a bmw x5 M. mother has m3 and my sister has a m1 and i drive a m6. honestly I'm sick of them all and when i test drove the rs5 i was blown away. sure there are some things bmw does better but as a fast luxury daily driver, id take the rs5

Lubomir Mesaros It's very hard and expensive to tune a N/A engine. Only thing you can replace is exhaust, filter, ECU, everything after that starts to get very expensive such as intake, cams, rods etc.

How do you do the launch control?

Put traction control off (completely off, not just in sport mode). Gear into sport or manual. Hold break with left foot, floor with right foot until 4k RPM then lift left foot off the brake. Boom.
