Audi S5 4.2 Gets JHM Race Pipes + Tune

In this video I will FINALLY be installing the JHM Race Pipes & JHM Tune on my 2008 Audi S5 4.2. The Race Pipes will be complimenting the AWE Touring exhaust that is already on the car. Also as you will see, the JHM Tune REALLY wakes the car up, and turns it into the beast that it should've been from factory. Some of the key features you get with this tune are the famous JHM Launch Mode, and also getting rid of the factory soft limiter so that N/A German V8 can really scream. First video i came across from your channel, i like the content! Ever consider doing a rwd conversion? The reduction in drivetrain loss and weight on its own makes it a must have mod on the B8 S5 imo, really any B8 unless you live in Alaska. Of course the added fun is one of the main selling points, but more power to the ground, less weight, better driving dynamics? Surprised i haven’t seen more people do it

@@tariqsamuels8578 I actually have a W204 at the moment, but i’m looking at getting into a B8 as a toy to mess around with. A rwd conversion would be among the first mods when that day comes. I didn’t know jhm made one, i know ecs has a conversion kit and it seems like a better option compared to welding the stock unit.

Yeah you can always tune back to stock. But I don’t think it’s worth the trouble of reinstalling the cats once a year. Would be quite the hassle

Hey bro I see you have the manual I was wondering if they had to drop your trans for the install because I heard manuals need the trans dropped and I’m an auto and I have awe downpipes and awe track exhaust I’m looking to run the test pipes but wanna know if the trans needs dropped in order to install them.

What’s up bro! No the shop I took it to was able to do it with out dropping the cradle or the trans. I know in the JHM video they literally use a strap to pull the trans to the side so they don’t have to drop the trans, so that should be necessary

It can definitely get pretty low with some spirited driving 😅 but on average I’m getting around 18-22 mpg which isn’t too bad! Especially for a V8 built in 2008 lol. But before the tune I changed the spark plugs and ignition coils.

Really it would be up to what you’re comfortable driving around with everyday. I personally don’t like my car to pop and bang too much I like mine pretty subtle. But if you like a lot of pops and bangs then I would go for it! 👌🏽

I will be sure to post a tutorial! But you make sure that TC is all the way off by holding down the ESC button. Then just hold in the clutch and give it gas, should hold around 5500 rpm. Then when you’re ready let go of the clutch and hold on for dear life 🤣

Yes! They are essentially catless test pipes.. so be careful if you have emissions wherever you live. The JHM X-Pipe may be a good alternative if you do have emissions!
