@@RobertPuklin oh no that’s such bad news for me. I’ve waited literally 3 years for this and the macan to decide between them. Now I’ve heard they’re not very quiet which in particular annoys me. Though imo the macan looks so fantastic I might forgive it. What was your opinion of the Q6 to be disappointed, if you don’t mind me asking…

​@@bneyarb5037 the driving was fine, but not exceptional. My line of work is in car software. There is where I was most disappointed with Q6. The system feels archaic and some things like an absurd lag of the reverse camera - you could hit an obstacle before even seeing it on the screen - made it a big downer. Haptics and controls are quite poor and the whole vehicle feels like a 7 year old product that got refreshed at some point. Best to see and try for yourself, as your expectations may be vastly different.

I think the lower consumption does not come from the tyres but more from the more sporty chassis trim of the SQ6. It is lower than the normal Q series.

Then can you explain higher consumption at 120 kph? It seems at the lower speed (90 kph) lower rolling resistance could have overcome the higher drag of the denser colder air. As the speed increased, the increased drag from the colder air took over, because drag increases by velocity squared. Bjørn's theory makes sense.

Tourqe needs wide tires, remember this is ia SQ6 not a regular Q6.

@@wolllollihakelspa1548 I hear Paris is charging parking based on a vehicle weight. I think it is fair, given it here Audi are using a big battery to compensate for a heavy and thirsty vehicle. Our German EV weighs in at only 2100kg and even that feels weighty at times when driving.

@@SteveLoughran Agreed, The hyundai ioniq 28 kwh & 38 kwh are partly so efficient because they weigh in the region of 1600 kg. 1 tonne lighter than the SQ6!!

Presumably the people who are prepared to buy this don't care as much as long as they feel happy with the range and its charging speed. It does mean it will be more expensive to charge at public chargers though. And take longer to charge at home if you are doing big journeys every day I need to charge up every night then you would want to plug-in as soon as you got home to get those kilowatts in. Oh - and it would really hurt to do big charges at the slower charging stations unless you are prepared to have a fine three course meal with dessert why you wait?

@@vnsolbk It seems to me that the inconvenience is a larger issue than the higher charging costs. As you have correctly pointed out, higher energy demands cost more money which is a non-issue for some people. But money cannot lower their car's consumption. And the owners will feel it most at the most inconvenient times. For instance, when they get stuck at a slow charging location because nothing else is available while the more efficient cars are already finished and gone.

If you want an efficient car get an MEB car. These are much more efficient, have almost the same range and cost half the price.😅

This is an SQ6, made for performance not efficiency. Get the regular Q6 or A6 e-tron instead of you like big range numbers over good 0-60.
