Not sure why all the dislikes on the video. It’s thorough and well-explained. I wouldn’t use an impact for the strut mounts/bearings, and would replace the stretch bolts while torquing everything back to factory spec, but otherwise it’s a good watch 👍🏼

Just a tip for anybody who may see this regarding spreading the front knuckle assembly, using a strut spreader socket tool (~$20 on Amazon) really makes the process much easier. Or in a pinch, a 3/8" drive to 1/4" drive adapter can also work as well, but doing so most likely will sacrifice the adapter after you're done with the install.

are there any 'spring' sleeves (the one that wrap around the springs) for sale?

Thank You. Going to consider the Sachs Performance when it comes time to replace current Coilover set up on MK6. Blue Loctite, Torque Wrench, and VW sez to replace 'stretch bolt' type hardware. A least replace locking type Nuts! Cuz we drive it like we stole it. :)

what is the performance difference between this sachs performance and KW V3?

Nice video and a big FCP Euro fan here. That said I would just get new bearings. They are cheap so might as well replace while you are in there.

Thanks, Hwy88 Forever! Definitely not a bad idea on the bearings!

Any idea of spring rates on this kit?

installed these recently. Does the adjustment in front get really loose as you go down to the softest setting? Mine do. It almost feels as if it's gonna fall out.
@fcpeuro6 жыл бұрын
Hi Jakub. Yes, the adjustment feels very loose when you get down to the bottom. We run these dampers on all of our race cars and they all do the same thing. Basically, how they work is there is a rod that is pushed into the damper piston. The softest adjustment applies no pressure, therefore the adjuster feels loose whereas the hardest setting applies the most pressure to the piston. I wouldn't be concerned as these are exactly how they are designed to be. We worked directly with Sachs during a track day adjusting these so you should have no issues.

You're welcome Jakub

FCP Euro found these to be a bit softer than I was hoping for. What are the spring rates on these and how much higher of a rate should the struts be able to handle?
