Learn what audience triggers in GA4 are, why are they useful, and how to configure them.
When a user enters an audience, you can automatically trigger an event. That event can help you later quickly check the event reports and see how many times your website visitors entered a certain audience.
For example, how many people did stay on a page for more than 60 seconds and scrolled to the bottom of a page (when all of this happened in the same session) - this kind of question (in the same of events) can be answered by configuring Audience Triggers in GA4

Hey great video!! Really useful. Quick question, the event created after setting the audience trigger can be marked as a conversion event? (like any other event or is it treated differently?)

i did it from 11:54 minutes (with generate_lead _start_session) and mark the audience trigger and call it : new_lead and it not appears (i clean my cookies) also set it on gtm, how can i fix it?

But isn't this Audience trigger (scroll + 60seconds) only session-scoped, instead of hit-scoped or page-scoped (if we can call it that)? Meaning, I could land on one page, quickly scroll, click on an internal link, visit another page and only then spend 60seconds, without scrolling. The trigger would fire even if those 2 events happen on different pages within a session, right? That's why I use a GTM Trigger Group (scroll+time) for sending a GA Event only when those 2 conditions are met on the same page.

Correct. This basically depends on what are your goals.

Hi Julius, great video as always will definitely buy your course when I have the means. One question: If I were to create an audience for lets say 3, 5, 10 an 15 pages scrolled and i were to configure the audiences as include scroll event count >0 exclude scroll event count >2 include scroll event count >2 exclude scroll event count >4 and so on, would users be updatet, when they pass the audience with lower scrolls? Would a user who did 2 Scrolls, who was added to the first audience be added to the second audience if he came back and scrolled another two times? Thanks a lot and all the best to you.

How stupid is that.. If Google would have allowed to segment with "Engaged Users" or "Session Duration", it would have taken 10 seconds to configure this instead of 5 minutes and multiple settings in GTM and GA4.. Wondering how Google care about Analytics today, not a lot apparently. Anyway, thanks for the tip, great ;)
