Dimash has been is music school since he was 5. He now has 2 degrees in classical and contemporary music, a masters in composition, and is working on a PhD. He’s been on stage since he was 3. Dimash is now 29. Sings is 13+ language and plays several instruments. Enjoy your Dimash journey.

Parents are both singers, his mother is a soprano in an opera company. They discovered when he was about five that he had absolute pitch, he then started at music school. Because he is from an ex-Soviet territory he went under their system, half a day at normal school, the other half learning music singing as well as instrument playing. If he was educated under the western systems it might have taken considerably more time to achieve what he has with his voice. He went to university and has post grad degrees in both opera and contemporary singing. By his speaking voice he is a baritone but towards the lower end. His main singing teacher at Uni forbade him to sing falsetto, but Dimash kept on singing when he thought the teacher wasn’t around. He practises three hours every day, and thinks if he stopped singing for a whole week that it would take him some months to get his voice back to where it was(so hopefully he doesn’t end up in hospital anytime)

You've only scratch the surface of Dimash. He sings in multiple languages, plays multiple instruments, and all genres of song. Recommendations: Sinful Passion (one of the longest runs in history), Ogni Petra (sings both male and female pop opera), Diva Dance (5th element alien song), Stranger (song written exclusively for him because he is the only one that can sing it), Billie Jean (wonderfully done), and so on.

I love Dimash and his voice but in fairness he does have a, lot of dancers and effects when he does a concert, so it's not strictly true to say he has no backing. Certainly on this track it's just Dimash and his voice and you can't argue with that fact that he has true talent and a outstanding voice

When you realize he sings in 13 languages his voice is also different. I too wondered what his actual speaking voice was until he spoke after a song he sang. Singing since the age of 5 worked so hard to accomplish his work has paid off. In each song he adds a surprise. His grandparents raised him, that is his culture to raise the eldest child. His mom is an opera singer, his dad a pop singer hence he chose to fuse them in his music. A very humble man loves his family and Dears [fans]. You have been Dimashed! Listening to him since 2017 each song is so good. Look up I AM Singer 2017 for all Dimash's songs and you will start your journey of him. Hope all this helps to understand. Igor Kutroy came out of retirement to work with him and isn't under any contract. Dimash has been offered many contracts and wants to do it all by himself. He is amazing live. Saw him live for the first time in Malaysia in June 2023. It's only whistle tone when it sounds like a whistle, so that is not his whistle tone. Yes he has a whistle tone. If you wanted to hear his speaking voice you should have let the video play out a bit more. This is just the beginning, SOS is just a starting point. His speaking voice isn't super low or high. Its a pleasant tenor voice.

Thank you for discovering Dimash and welcome to a beautiful world of music. Dimash is a 29-years old singer from Kazakhstan and believe me, you’ve seen nothing at all. In my opinion you have discovered the best singer in the world. He has perfect pitch and currently has a vocal range of 6 octaves. Not in one song (mostly anyway😅). However, if you include the notes he has sung live in his concerts so far, you get almost 8 octaves (7.7 from vocal fry C1 (B0) to the whistle register D8; this note is no longer on the piano). At least that's what he's shown us so far. And that in all registers. His voice is the result not only of his God-given talent, but also of his almost 25 years of daily hard training. From the age of 5 he attended music school in his hometown of Aktobe. He plays several instruments like piano, dombra (a kazach instrument), drums, marimba and more. He has classical as well as contemporary vocal training and sings in different genres from opera to pop, jazz, Kazakh folk, ballads and he even raps a bit. And often he skillfully mixes several genres in one song. Mainly classic and pop, so he created a new crossover genre. And meanwhile in more than 10 languages. The latest songs (from Tokyo Jazz Festival in November 2021) are Ikanaide in Japanese and at his concert in Almaty on September 23, 2022 he sang a new song in Spanish (about 7 languages in one concert!). And at his concert in Yerevan on April 29, 2023, he sang an Armenian folk song for the first time (it has to be about 15 languages so far). He sings no mainstream and is a completely independent artist. He is managed by his father Kanat, who founded his own company "DimashAli Creative Center". The logo can be seen at the beginning of many of Dimash's videos. Maybe that’s the reason you never heard of him yet. He doesn’t sell his soul to a music label. He doesn’t want to be dictated by money when he has to sing what, when, where and how. Many of my favorite songs are in his native tongue. He is a nice, intelligent, respectful and humble person. Sometimes he also can be a little bit goofy, and I love it❤️. He respects people regardless of their original, religion or profession. He truly loves his homeland Kazakhstan and his people with all his heart and always shows it with pride in many of his songs, concerts and interviews. During his concerts in Dubai, Düsseldorf and Prague in 2022, before he performed his song War And Peace, he told the audience he loves all people in every country. And there are no bad nations (only bad leaders). And I absolutely believe this. His concert in September 23, 2022 was in his hometown Almaty, it was so amazing and it lasts almost 4 hours. Believe it or not but he really gets better and better. Every time you think you know him and his art, you realize you are so wrong. He's very spiritual and thankful for the gift God has given him. But he also works very hard to constantly improve his vocal skills. He said in an interview that he trains at least 3 hours every day, if necessary, it can be 10 hours to prepare for a concert. He loves swimming and also a lot under water. Maybe that's why he has this large lung capacity to hold the notes as long as he does. He's a singer you can't put in any box. He sings almost every genre there is. Every time you watch a video, expect the unexpected. Even the covers he sings he makes his own and brings elements into the song that you would never expect. Don't be surprised if you get suggestions for songs you may have already seen. Dimash has different versions of many of the same songs. They are all worth seeing. Not only is he perfect at singing and performing, he's also an incredibly good actor. Check out his music videos. They are amazing. You think I’m exaggerating? No, I don’t think so😄. He sang this song as a guest at the Slavic Bazaar in Belarus 2018. It’s an International Festival of Arts and a contest for young singers, which he won in 2015. SOS is a song in the rock-opera „Starmania“ from 1978. The first who presented this song was the French singer and songwriter Daniel Balavione. SOS was the first performance of the China competition (in 2017) and was his first appearance in this show. The Singer is a show in China where only established singers are invited to perform. All the singers invited to this show are already well-known artists in China who have already won awards. Dimash was invited as the first foreigner as a wild card and the youngest in the history of this show. They became aware of him because he had already won some important competitions in Kazakhstan and Belarus, among others. He was still completely unknown in China. True masterpieces were created. He writes songs that only Dimash could sing with his vocal range, such as Olimpico, Stranger or Ave Maria. You’ll often see him accompanying Dimash on the piano. The two have no contract. Their cooperation is based more on mutual trust. It’s more like a father/son relationship. If possible, always watch the videos from start to finish. Very often there are interesting things to learn. Either there’s something to laugh about, or he’s talking to his audience. He always thanks his musicians. If you'd stayed to the end where he's speaking to the audience, you'd know he has a fairly low speaking voice that is getting lower with age, sometimes close to your pitch, sometimes more baritone. Of course he belts out a higher tenor sound when he wants to belt a thank you to the audience.

The best start at getting to know dimash is by watching the Singer Competition which i believe that Dimash participated in, in 2017, that's where his path to stardom all began. And S.O.S. Is actually the 1st song that he sang in that competition, followed up by Opera 2, just follow the flow.

I agree with starting with the Chinese Singer Competition. That will always be my favorite SOS. His next song was Opera 2, followed by Diva Dance In 5th Element. These are amazing, and since they were a competition, you can be assured that he was totally, completely in his own voice. He was a sensation in China and really started his international fandom. Someone recommended Across Endless Dimensions, which I would second. It is an OST for an Italian Sci-Fi movie. Story goes that three vocalists sang the different parts for Dimash to hear. And Dimash sang all the parts. Stranger is one that showed how he had been working on his lower tones! One of my favorites is War and Peace. And, if you like Queen, Season 2018 he sang a medley of Queen songs with the Super Vocal Boys. One of his newer songs is Ikanaide in Japanese. Enjoy.

I’ve seen Dimash live three times in different countries and I’m 78. His concerts have him singing many genres, playing instruments , dancing, chatting with the audience, sometimes inviting someone up to sing with him, getting the audience to sing with him, coming down to shake hands with people, at the end of his three and a half hour shows. He asks the audience whether THEY are tired lol. Some of his concerts are on you tube. I recommend Stranger from New Wave 2021. It’s in English and epic.

Dimash has extra-ordinary talent, but without putting in a lot of hard work, he would never have been able to develop his voice and performance to what it is now. Many people have raw talent, but few have dedicated their lives to perfect their art the way Dimash has. Because Dimash has studied voice since he was 5 years old and practiced several hours every day throughout his life, he was able to keep the upper registers after puberty when most other boys his age went through their voice changes. You can just let your hunger take over. There's a list already given to you that's a good list I see. The fact is, You're guaranteed a mind-blowing session every time you get Dimashified. There's a note on Ave Maria (The last note) that he does and has a bit of a specialness to it, I don't know what technically it is, but it's just SO perfect over his other incredibly perfect notes. This doesn't Make much sense to me other than it has some type of vibration or connection to my brain on its perfectness. it just doesn't make any sense. I just listened to another reactor to that song of his. I listen to it so many times I sometimes just go to the end. Which is still the same every time it doesn't depend on the reactor. I don't get it. I just know he's exceptionally weird and especially talented and exceptionally committed to his craft and we all love him. ❤...Dears... Still scratching our heads wondering how he does it to us, even when we are prepared and can't be surprised, He can still make me cry and give me goosebumps on the same song. You're the type I like that analyzes and thinks the same way or gets frustrated the same way. Depends on how you look at it.

If you want to do progressive research on Dimash's singing, start with his appearances on "The Singer 2017." This was his real first appearance to the world outside of the Slavic states. He was only 22 and was invited to compete on a singing competition show of all Chinese established and professional singers only. Dimash was not only the first foreigner to perform, but also the youngest, at 22, in the show's history. That way you will hear how he continually improved with every episode. His first four songs were in French, Russian, English, and Mandarin. He is from Kazakhstan and only spoke Kazakh and Russian, at that time. You have yet to be truly amazed by the beauty, control, and emotional control of Dimash's voice. Dimash had been studying music since he was five yrs. old. He still does vocal training for 3-5 hrs. a day every day.

I just wrote this in another reaction so I might as paste it here: You should def check more of him out. He is possibly the best singer on the planet right now, maybe ever. I don't know for sure, but so far, tastes aside (because it's not really my kind of music), technically he's the most superior singer I've ever heard of. He's also very good at conveying emotion, sign of a good actor. I recommend 'Sinful Passion' and 'Love is like a dream' to explore his deeper voice, and then some, plus some amazing vocal acrobatics. 'Stranger' is also a popular one to check out but that vid gets flagged often by KZbin copyright so just a heads up. That range, last I checked was F#1 - D8 if you count his distorted low voice in "Our Love".

You're right, takes training, 20 years to be precise, a degree in Classic (Bel Canto), one in Contemporary (Jazz, Pop), and a minimum of 3 h practice per day ever since. He classifies himself as a tenor, and his Bel Canto teacher does too. That said, he can descend to a pretty dark and full bass baritone, and reach F6 in soprano register. His whistle notes only start in the 7th octave, E7, F7, F#7 and G7, once hitting a D8 live. His speaking voice was at the end of the video you watched. Low tenor, I'd say. His most comfortable range, that he can whip out even when sick, is tenor, high mix, and soprano. What he sings live in his (freakin' 3+ hours, 90% live) concerts, is in tenor - low tenor to high mix - and soprano. Plus a hundred textures and dynamics. With a bit of rest, and a very expensive condenser microphone, he can record, in his true voice, masterpieces for music's history books. Dimash is a treasure of storytelling in music. You mentioned Dimash's speaking voice. That is the joke about Ko WooRim, of Forestella, that he speaks in a deep voice, as well as sing basso profundo. Dimash did a tour of America earlier this year. And has done Concerts in Europe. He was speaking to David Foster, just prior to David's child's nanny dying. It may be they were trying to get Dimash more exposure in America, in a way that would feel more positive than his last foray into America. (A very badly Produced programme called The World's Best, that Dimash fans won't watch, as they butchered his songs, and disrespected his Cultural value).
