That’s an impressive plug in. Knowing a bit about bit this area I’m surprised we don’t have more of these. Issue will be ability to cope with different instruments and more complexity. This is a hard problem and the tools will get better and better

I will have to try this out... I came from Cubase to Bitwig and i only keep Cubase on my desktop because it has an audio to midi feature and also the scoring to video option which Bitwig hasnt intergrated... This seems almost better than Cubase's version or at least has more knobs/options... Thanks for passing on the information and FREE is my favourite price!!!

Cubase version only works on monophonic audio though right?

Nice thing - still hoping for a Bitwig-internal solution though! Abletons Drag&Drop Audio-to-Midi is unmatched, concerning the quickness of workflow.

Pretty good for free. Out of curiosity I've tried this in the past with Melodyne, because I have it. It did pretty well, the results were even usable with semi-complex drum patterns after some adjustments and editing.

I think I might find this useful for finding out the right note or pitch of my Vocals after recording them into my Logic Pro & Bitwig DAWs (I am a Bitwig Newbie but really like it so far!). I think I could live with some of its shortcomings but they’re only minor… its a Freebie Plug-in thats also a work-in-progress so you have to expect these things but it can be very useful. Thanks for sharing this!

Polyphonic note detection is really impressive, even if it's not great... would love to try something like this can do near-real-time conversion of monophonic audio sources (with pitch slide tracking) so I can plug in my Silent Brass mute into my trombone and use it as a synth controller...

As a newbie to this, two things are not clear to me as I try to install it. (a) which file (vst/au/standalone) to use, and (b) which Audio Music Apps folder to copy to.
@PolarityMusic4 ай бұрын
a) where do you want to use it, in Bitwig? then you need vst. Logic, then au. b) which system? windows? which plugin standard? vst3? vst3 on windows goes always to "C:\Program Files\Common Files\VST3"

I write something unrelated to this post, but it is about a feature that I used to have in cubase but seems to be missing in bitwig. It is called direct monitoring, where you would listen to external audio bypassing the FX of the daw while listening and so didn't have any latency. Does this feature exist in bitwig or is there maybe a workaround?
@halflightdnb Жыл бұрын
Very cool.

Anyone figure out why the Quantize isn't working? I mean, importing and doing in the DAW is easy, just seems strange they would have a feature there but not allow you to use it.

Would also be great if it had some preview playback sounds it had built in, such as a piano, or guitar sound to hear playback of the rendered MIDI, which then you could tweak the detection parameters and hit "Test" again to hear if it is a better match to the original with altered settings. Also would have been helpful to see it's amount of success on a full mix, or a bass line, or..., not just a sample of solo piano, the easiest instrument in the world to do pitch to MIDI... Confused by your "too hard" for computers to do this. Melodyne has done this for 22 years...
