Given how much more subjective headphones preferences are compared to other audio gear, I'm always looking for reviewers who have similar likes to what I like. That way, I think there's a better chance when they describe a product that I have never heard myself, their findings will be closer to what I would have thought. So it is both helpful and surprising that in 2024 I bought the same two pieces of gear that you did -- the LTA Z10e and the DCA E3! That's got to be more than a coincidence. (In this case, I bought both before watching your reviews.) Happy New Year to you and your family!

Once I got my chain correct I kinda stopped paying attention to dacs amps and daps. I’ll keep current on headphones and iems but that is about it. 2 channel has moved into my primary attention now. Love my headphone rigs but it’s maybe 20% of my listening time tops.

I wouldn't call the DCA E3's reference grade. I auditioned them for nearly a month, and they were far too boosted in the bass and about 8dB too bright around 8kHz.

Hi waveTheory, I think your videos are fantastic, and I’ve learned a lot from your technical knowledge. Do you happen to know if the Dan Clark E3 can be driven by the Astell&Kern Max? In super mode, the Max outputs 15 Vrms. I already own the Dan Clark Æon 2 Noire, and it works well with it. Best regards, Dennis

What is that noise at 9:45 / 9:46 on the left channel? Is my HE1000SE broken? Anyone else hearing this? It's not loud. Thx. Edit: It keeps hizzing. 10:30-10:40... Maybe the mic is clipping? Your headphones are fine. I watched the video with the HE1000SE too, and the noise is there. It's a recording issue, not the headphones. He was just too close to the microphone when recording.

Trust me, I freak out a little too if I hear buzzing on one of my iems. Only once it was a new $500 iem actually having qc issues (loose filter on the dd or a bad dd).
