how would you use chordjam and riffer together in your workflow?
@DirtySecretz3 жыл бұрын
I would probably just do that if I've come up with a bassline first with Riffer, I could then feed the midi output of that into Chordjam (which is then fed into an instrument) so the bass notes are played at chords.

Great video mate! How would you compare this to captain plugins? I already have captain so just want to know what the differences may be. Cheers!

Chordjam, the Captain plugins and Scaler are all quite similar with lots of features that overlap. I own all 3 and I'd say it's really down to preference as to which one you like using the most as you could make the argument that anyone of them is better than the others. I never really got along with the Captain plugins, something about them just didn't work well with my workflow. Scaler 2 is fantastic and I do use that occasionally but I just find Chordjam great to just jam out with chords. It is very similar to Captain Play, which actually was my favourite of the Captain plugins, so if you like using that then you probably don't need this one however the voicing and time options I found really great to use within Chordjam. I'd say give the trial a go, see if it works for you because there isn't alot in it other than which you find the nicest to use.

can one add custom chord progressions to chordjam?
@DirtySecretz2 жыл бұрын
That's more a Scaler thing, Chordjam is all about triggering chords but you can adjust every chord via the panel at the top

This is fantastic! and you do a great review. Thanks. Is it possible to create custom chords like Scaler 2 ? or are you tied to the list and random generation? I mean, I would love to manually change the notes inside specific picked chords. Another question is it possible to control and play the chords in the PAD section via MIDI notes?

You can't create custom chords within Chordjam but you can totally customise a chord if that makes sense. You can take a chord and then adjust the voicing which will give you inversions of it, you can then save this chord to a pad and recall it later. The pads can be mapped to any midi CC message, just go into the settings and there's full mapping in there (I did a tutorial video on the settings on the AudioModern youtube channel).
