They were so criminally underrated when together. All the 'critics' had their minds made up about the band, with it being a "super group" and should've been fired for writing the reviews they did. That first album could be listened to all the way through without hitting skip, and produced at least 4 pretty big hits that most people my age can sing if it comes over the speakers.
@johnulcer3 жыл бұрын
Yeah, they were an easy target. A lot of people wrote them off as "another supergroup." I kind of felt the same way about the first Velvet Revolver record. Both albums had really solid tunes beginning to end.

@@gianlucatixson6621 very hot take, but I mostly agree with it. I think they are all different and party to their own sounds and ages, but I have to say I regularly listen to Audioslave more than the others.

this song reminds me of that one time i was on holiday with my mom, and we went to the sea, ate crappy food and did lots of fun stuff. Dude, what a great memory. Thanks Chris.

Chris' wordmanship ability had me from the git ~ it was as if he crawled between my two ears and read my mind and phrased his lyrics so eloquently... Of course his beautiful voice will also continue to cause me to miss him for infinity... And then I saw how scrumptious of a man he was... OMG... I got to watch every nuance of Soundgarden's last concert from the 4th row, front & center... It still plays in my memory and always will... Chris, not only will nobody ever sing like you, but there won't be anybody else able to replace you in my heart... There was and is only one of you...

A few seconds into watching/listening after I had searching for I am the highway, is the first time I saw this video and shortly knew that it must have been right before he left us. We haven’t left him, the few that loved him and understood him as soul brothers and sisters. The most precious souls suffer at the hands of those, we thought and always knew as love. Very few are true lovers. People that are true, in their existence, in everything before and after, what is now. Lie again, true lovers always knew the truth, the live in honest step, we die in the honor of it, and that’s the saddest part. When we die for the truth, we don’t die when others kill us for their lies. I’ll see you in heaven my brother. 🩵🤍🩶

This is what soul vocals sound like, hits me in the 'feels every time', unlike what we are told is supposed to be 'soul' music. This hits my soul bang in the middle. I'm 61, haven't cried since I was a boy. Chris Cornel did it, Mark Hollis on the last three Talk Talk albums, and maybe Layne Stanley when hit those notes. Just guys who were not 'shake n bake' pop stars, but when you got them on their side, the magic just poured outta them.
