It always gets me that he was visualizing his death in a way with this song, and to think this song is set in a motel and he died in a hotel room while touring, he died in the midst of doing what he loved, ugh.

It’s amazing this life. I listen to this song and hear my beautiful older brother who took his own life when I was only a teenager. I grew up with soundgarden and grunge because of him.

I lost my brother in 2012 in a car crash and before that my brother introduced me to this band and this specific AOL version of this song was his fav. I have stopped listening to music i used to listen with him because each song reminds me of him and its painful even after 9 years.

On a cobweb afternoon In a room full of emptiness By a freeway I confess I was lost in the pages Of a book full of death Reading how we'll die alone And if we're good, we'll lay to rest Anywhere we want to go In your house, I long to be Room by room, patiently I'll wait for you there Like a stone I'll wait for you there Alone And on my deathbed I will pray To the gods and the angels Like a pagan to anyone Who will take me to heaven To a place I recall I was there so long ago The sky was bruised The wine was bled And there you led me on In your house, I long to be Room by room, patiently I'll wait for you there Like a stone I'll wait for you there Alone Alone And on I read Until the day was gone And I sat in regret Of all the things I've done For all that I've blessed And all that I've wronged In dreams until my death I will wander on In your house, I long to be Room by room, patiently I'll wait for you there Like a stone I'll wait for you there Alone Alone

Born and raised in seattle. My mom to this day is still highschool friends with his sis suzie. I graduated the year he passed and about a year ago she was over and I asked her if he wouldve come to my senior grad party and play a song or two. Her response cut me “Oh of course he would have. He would’ve loved it. That’s just who he is”

Yeah; that's me. That's why I keep it to the car. Not even the shower, my wife and kids will hear, and die. If Charismatic Voice watched a video of me singing, 5 seconds in she'd just be like "yeah, we're just going to stop this one here and we'll see you next week!"
@pimpsonparade2 жыл бұрын
@@sorinev yeah, singing is scary. You pick up an instrument and have no idea how to play it, so what? Other people will screw up pretty bad if they don't know how to play that instrument, too. Your voice, though... that's different. To me, singing is so much more intimate than playing an instrument. Regardless of what your voice sounds like, most people won't be able to just copy your exact tone and timbre. To me, singing feels like looking someone straight in the eyes.
