The inspector's opening remarks, and his recollection of his opening remarks, diverged greatly in a few short minutes. How many times have police officers made similar mistakes, then written up notes after an incident, and later read them out in court under oath? This shows why every interaction with the police should be recorded and our right to film them should never be taken away.

The problem, Inspector, was that you were clearly using words like "hiding" and "crouching" to build grounds, and you were trying to build those grounds with things which didn't happen. You treated him like a suspect without reasonable suspicion. I am not sure he actually meant to lie ... I agree he most certainly did lie but I think his adrenaline was probably flowing a bit and when AB pointed out that the words he was choosing to use to describe what he was doing ie: Loitering .. Hiding ...Crouching ... instead of the use of the word ' Standing ' and he clearly did not ask him why in the initial contact but I think it was because AB was so articulate in his word-smithing getting the officer to second guess what he said when he approached that the officer simply did not know what TO say or what HE did say.. but I don't think he intentionally fell over his words although he did for sure. All I am saying is I don't think the officer was really trying to HEM up our AB on some trumped up 'charges' by lying about AB's standing taking pictures instead of Loitering Hiding or Crouching. Not a boot licker .. it just seemed like he honestly did not know how to properly converse with AB initially.

If just ONE of those stormtroopers ever said "hello Sir, are you looking for the entrance, it's that way, have a nice day." But nooooo, it's always the Gestapo routine.

An inspector so used to badgering the public he got a shock when he came up against a professional. It took a while for it to sink in, but when it did he tried pretty well to recover. Telling him that you had experienced Terrorism Section 23; and won, was a very sobering moment for him. Now is the time become professional he thinks, but way too late you numpty. Great work AB. Mind you some credit to him to be running a station where not one officer was wearing the thin blue line shows he is trying... a bit anyway. Great work mate (AB).

Try working in a pub, train station, chip shop, taxi or delivering pizza’s! All more dangerous jobs than theirs, like most. They’re all shit scared of everything with absolutely zero social skills which is why they were attracted to the job in the first place.

I get the impression from his turn about face that he suddenly realised he was been audited. BTW that was such a liberated move walking away to have a look at the electric car. I would have loved to see the reaction on the inspectors face at that point. Well done AB.

Because weirdly the Police forces don't communicate with each other. That's how criminals get away with things. 'Police intelligence' is a complete oxymoron.
@Yeknodathon3 жыл бұрын
So many lines of communication being opened up! A pleasant, welcoming "Hello Sir, just asking if you need help with anything?", would have been a good start.
