16:44 😂 i like how this gif is so good that i've seen even in other channels LMAO Taiki looking at her nape....man lost the real sight: the feet LOL PS: i agree, it hurts for me too 😂 i TOTALLY, 100% AGREE - the author MAKES some people (like us) like Hina so much, that when the time comes, we be like "dang....i hate this is happening" LOL It's messed up bc sometimes i have the feeling that some authors just hate the rival character that they themselves created. In the end the rival always suffers more, and making a character that didn't deserve to suffer pass through a tough time is a great way to make me empathize with them.

That doesn't mean necessarily about hating a rival character. If they really hated her they could have made her a worse character lacking substance for nuance and/or more villanized type, but they made her someone that could be empathized with in the first place for a fan audience... Also no one else here "deserves" to suffer either. That's how life be sometimes... sometimes things work out of for you and sometimes they don't, no matter if it's "deserved" or not. Process the pain and learn to become better despite it.

@@raec5426 in the past i used to seem a lot of jokes like "the author must hate this or that character bc of how much suffering they put into them", but after some time a few things made me conclude this really is the case in many series. Some authors even came out and blatantly said they didn't like some character or that find them boring, and when you analyzed it, said character really suffered a lot. Idk if you're a manga reader or not, but i think this might be the case with Hina's character too. Not only bc the obvious is gonna happen, but what her character becomes as well... About the "deserving" part, what i meant was that she is not an evil, schemer girl who is trying to play dirty to get what she wants. Many rivals start like this and get developed later, but Hina was never like this from the start, so what i mean is: she didn't do anything to make people dislike her, otherwise the "expected" reaction would be for people to not care and even enjoy seeing her suffer.

That's exactly why, her being my #2 favorite character in the series (my #1 unfortunately only gonna appear next season), i pay attention how she is handled in the story, and i do sense the author stopped liking her or simply never did to begin with. Well...future will tell. This is still my impression, since i have nothing to confirm this.

Wtf was this episode man. They made it the best episode of the season and the beautiful one. Every shot was so beautiful. For now on the anime Will show to us why Chinatsu is incredible. She is a great character and you will see.

Despite Hina being on the offensive with the confession last episode chinatsu is taking down walls between her and taki now that nationals is over and they had that moment to help her destress and the duo apology we are finally starting to get some of chinatsu's perspective thats clearly been hidden from us thus far allowing the viewer to begin to learn about chinatsu at the same time as taki gets closer to her and there boundaries that she set up break down. While Hina unintendedly building them with the idea that Taki doesnt need to give her a answer while it was probley good in the short term for Hina she is still partially running away from that fact that her feelings arnt respirated because she knows taki likes chinatsu and while she says it doesnt bother her as cho pointed out it may at some point if not already does it puts her in the limbo that she can pretend that there is a chance and for Taki he is in a very aquard position not having to give a answer because it clearly bothers him likely because knowing that the way Hina acted around him and still does was her way of flirting with him he is probley scared that if he rejects her it will change there friendship dynamic its interesting. This didnt really have anything to do with the discussion just my thoughts on the episode I felt I needed to put somewhere.

This is just like Re Zero all over again, the Subaru/Taiki likes Emilia/Chinatsu but the best girls: Hina/Rem is the one who confessed courageously but is still the losing heroines.

I don’t think Chinatsu was motivated as much with Hina here because if they wanted to show that more so, then a shift would have came directly after seeing the events of Taiki and Hina together. As well as show flashbacks of her thinking of Taiki and Hina together, but we didn't see that this episode. But instead you see more of the shift coming from after talking with mom. More of a generalized thing where she takes on a lot of things by herself to be more independent and focused on her goals, but not as much considering having the support of someone directly right beside her during that process.

I fear that I enjoyed myself this episode, It's like those movies where the wife works all the time and then the couple goes on vacation, and she's like, "Hey, I used to be fun!" Lol. We see Chinatsu finally put her hair down with Taiki! (23:50) I always have to remind myself that the best girl of the show (in my opinion) may not always be the best girl for the MC

The title is wrong btw. I liked this episode but i get the feeling chinatsu is acting this way just cuz she thinks there is smt going on between hina and taiki. I honestly hope i’m wrong tho cuz i do like chinatsu as a character 😭

Nah she just saw how weird Taiki started acting around her after she set those boundaries. She did it thinking it was the right thing to do because she's living in his house, but after she saw how uncomfortable he was after that, she took it back. That's why she said it was rude of her to say that when she apologized to him.

Nah, if they wanted to indicate that more you would have seen flashbacks of her thinking of him and Hina together but didn’t see any of that and the shift came from after talk with mom, not directly after the events of seeing him with Hina. So an additional factor perhaps, but not the basis.
