Hey everyone!
I just realised I put the wrong photos on the last thumbnail, got ahead of myself! Whoops!
Better late than never! This is the fourth part of the August food prep post the six weekly grocery haul, the first few days, I was so sick that things just worked a little differently this month and I'm sharing that too, some things got frozen instead of being processed, some got processed in a slightly different way etc!
Smoked Pork Roast
Lemon Chung
Velvetted Chicken
Almond Cookies!
Enjoy!
The website still has A LOT to go on it, there is a lot of dead links and empty space and even some 'sample stuff' from the template I bought, but if you'd like to look at how a sample recipe will look, here's a link and feedback is always welcome :)

Thanks Nyssa for this video. I enjoy cooking & I really feel I'm learning lots of new ideas & recipes from your channel. My mum loved cooking too & I think you are what she would describe as an instinctive cook - you seem to find the best ways to prep, cook & present meals. You make it look easy but I appreciate all the time & effort you put into your videos.

My mum always says I learned how to throw a meal together with whatever we have from my Grandmother, she had 4 kids and not much when my mum was young and she lived with us when I was an early tween/teen, she was very arthritic and used to direct me in the kitchen while she sat at the table, so I think I learned the basics of throwing meals together from her and have expanded on it over time! :D

Thanks for all these videos from your August food shopping. You still weren’t feeling too good were you when you made the videos so very understandable if some items were missing. Another great food video. You are probably going to plan September’s food dhopping soon. Cheers to off-grid living. 🇺🇸

Thank you! :D (sorry I'm a bit behind on answering comments atm). I try to show the good and bad, without sharing everything lol, because we don't want our entire lives on the internet, but I do try and show some of the struggles and how we try and work around them etc too :D

You’ve got great knife skills, my dear. I wish I could slice pork roast as thin as you. Is there a back story I’ve missed as to why you are the only one that eats dairy? The kids are all allergic or they don’t care for the taste off butter and cheese? I’m still cooking at 70 years old. My favorite vloggers are the ones with large families. You are my go to gal. I’ve been going back and watching you’re older videos. Thanks for sharing…. Debi in Vicksburg, MS, USA 🥰🥰

Lots of practice with knives hehe :D. The kids all had varying issues with dairy as babies, some more severe than others, but they couldn't have it at all (except Kavik, he was always ok) I had to not eat dairy while nursing etc. We now do fermented dairy, quite a few years back, over the 5 that we've lived here lol, we were seeing an allergist and he suggested introducing fermented dairy and seeing if they tolerated that, so they do, Kefir, yoghurt, some cultured sour creams etc! I'd imagine that some of them would tolerate dairy better now than they did before, and perhaps some wouldn't (Sonnet still struggles with eczema if she eats the wrong things quite badly, so she's probably still fairly sensitive). But the problem is that it was mostly stomach issues that occurred if they ate dairy, vomiting and cramping and diarrhoea, so the idea of trying them on it is a little ick lol. So I feel like we do well without it, with small amounts added here and there, but mostly they have alternatives now and we're used to it! :D

They are similar size to chicken eggs, but are pointier, they have a very distinct point to them on one end, they're also a lot harder to crack, a lot tougher shell!

@@sharonburling2262 Yop, they’re just like any other egg. We personally haven’t eaten them because our Guinea fowl hide when they nest, so when we do find a nest we’ve got no idea which eggs are new/old/developed lol.
