Aurora is what artistic expression is supposed to be. Pure soul, radiant and unafraid. Uncensored by judgement or material desire. A nebula of scale and a supernova of intensity. Every time I see her perform, I can't believe it. And this music isn't even "my thing". But how can it not be. God bless her.

For sure she definitely is, and I too really appreciate that about Elizabeth @TheCharismaticVoice as I have been a classically trained musician ever since my mom began teaching me to play the piano & singing in the children's choir @ our church way back in kindergarten! From there I progressed into scoring the highest score in the history of musical theory and aptitude tests given to elementary/junior high students when I was entering the 6th grade almost 3 decades ago, and I began playing my dads old trombone, and from there things really began to blossom for me musically as I got into jazz and orchestral performances which involved me learning valves and the baritone and tuba out of necessity for the symphonic/concert band as well as being a part of the small group that would join the strings in concert, as well as the orchestra pit which was always a ton of fun. Probably my fondest memories of performance are follows: 1. Bass and Lead Trombone in Jazz band 2. Marching with a Sousaphone be it in on the field for games, competitions, or in parades and the goofy fun we Tuba players would have adding visually to the drum cadences, and 3. All other Lead Trombone/Tuba performances and the cool places it's taken me, and how much I've learned over the years that took me well beyond anything I ever learned from my limited experience in choirs here and there, but it definitely gave me the skillset to be able to know and innerstand how to become a better singer over time, and to make it a work in progress as I continue to this day to understand the intricacies of all beautiful, and sometimes super intensely coarse things in terms of vocals.

@@TheCharismaticVoice This will not be how the new coming album will sound, here is Aurora in an interview: youtu .be/YytOgPVXqK0&t=3m24s "Sonically what can you tell us about kind of ehh, is this (Cure For Me) kind of representative of what you're exploring on the next record. Is it a sign of what's to come?" "Ehh No! It's very NOT how the album sounds, which is very exciting. But it has something in common with the album, that I am experimenting with new things and new sides, which I am enjoying. Because it is easy for me to make a really "Aurora" album you know, like that feels like nature and Mother Earth. It is very easy for me to do that because it comes so naturally for me, so I have been *really* enjoying just doing something new this time, doing something different. Because this is my third...and a half....album, and it's about time, you know, in my mind I needed to just play around and do something different, and for me music has always been extremely serious and no fun. It's been very like very serious, and I always write very serious things, and I can see myself like standing on stage every night for an hour and being like really sad all the time, because all my songs are so filled with so much sadness, you know. I just wanted to make an album for myself that had a bit more playfulness and cheekiness and wildness. It's very exciting, I'm very excited to share the album with you, and it will come out this year." I recommend you watch this simple piano version of "Cure For Me" she did on a livestream, it might not be as "fun" as the original, but it is very beautiful, I like it better: youtu .be/f2avKa4iMEY&t=55s The livestream also contains 3 more beautiful piano songs: 05:45 "Make You Feel My Love" (Bob Dylan cover), 10:09 "Runaway" and 16:53 "Exist For Love"

Happy that you reviewed Aurora and enjoy her work! My daughter and I discovered her years ago while watching KZbin Volvo video she sang on. We then began enjoying her music videos and taped performances. She is so talented vocally, with her mostly Nordic techno style, reminding mostly of Bjork, but also in the vane of other alternative rock and pop female singers like Delores O’Riordan, Dido and Sinead O’Connor, to name a few. But it’s also her authentic presentation during performances; the way she seems to sensitively and emotionally experience every note, that really grips you. Then at other times she playfully, youthfully dances, skips and wiggles about, instantly lightening the vibe, ever entertaining.

Maybe this is out there, but the defiant individuality expressed in the lyrics is very heavy metal. "The glorious teachers are no use for creatures who knows how to play with the gods" is almost Dio-like, but the bouncy electronica sound and Aurora's smooth etherial voice make this a playful aria as opposed to a snarling anthem. Yes, this is different from much of her other songs but I would say that her other work is even better. She has been writing music/lyrics since she was at least 9 years old and performing since she was around 18. Much of her music is hard to put into a specific category - other than amazing. She will also perform songs in different ways with different arrangements, sometimes stripped to just voice and piano or sometimes with a full orchestra and/or choir.

The first time I watched this music video I thought it was a lil goofy cuz the dance the people with the masks do with her but it's just kinda grew on me and now this is my favorite song from her and the dance looks pretty good too

You speak about the song suggesting quirky, weird and expressive and acceptance of that. When I saw the head twitching, it reminded me of "ticks", another component of a person that should be accepted as part of that person.
