Aurora wrote this song after reading about a man who took his wife's life to free her from the pain of a terminal illness. Aurora sees this as a love song, dark certainly, but an act stemming from the best of intentions. Aurora has many songs that highlight a range of difficult topics/issues. Her lyrics are brilliant but even more astonishing given her age. Aurora's writing highlights her empathy, intelligence and wisdom.

That's not accurate. She has been intentionally tight lipped about the meaning of the song, wanting people to interpret it for themselves. All she has said is that the man in the story really does love the woman. That's it

This is just a rumor that circulate through KZbin comments that pop up everytime this song is reacted too. Its not true. Aurora has never said this. Amazing song though.

@@riotsedits She has in an interview or podcast once. That was the inspiration from a book or news. But inspiration does not mean that the song has to be interpreted in this way or that it tells this story. In other interviews, she has told all this much more unspecifically in order to give fantasy more freedom.

This young girl is so special a Genius of a songwriter and this live performance, seriously if your not moved by this there’s something wrong with you it has to be one of the best live performances ever it’s the essence of what music is all about, there were thousands of people there and the silence was deafening as she held everyone in the palm of her hand, but that’s what you get with Aurora,as a live performer she is outstanding in fact for me that’s the only way to hear her for you get to see the whole package not only of the quality of her voice but the connection she has with own songs it’s if she transfers herself to a different place and you are there with her seeing what she sees,I’m 66 and seen many artists live in concert but after seeing Aurora live 3 times now I can honestly say that no one has ever moved my emotions like her singer songwriter’s like her do not come around that often and I’m so blessed to have her music in my life.❤️🍎❤️🍎❤️

Aurora is a true story teller… she often draws inspiration from real life situations not always her own. But she likes ppl to interpret them whichever way they do. Nice reaction man! ☺️

@@MugnifyRTS All those songs in the Nidarosdomen (Nidaros Cathedral) are amazing, but just this song has another version which is just as magical, I highly recommend you spend 4 min watching this as well in private. It is pure a cappella and she has amazing harmonies with her band members: youtu . be / CFzExUN1N8I

Beautiful and emotional song, especially with so expressive artist like Aurora - she is always "in the song". Thx for a reaction for this song and she has so many great songs:). I would recommend "Lucky" live from Nidarosdomen. The song she started to write when was 9 and finished it a little later. For such young person lyrics and theme of song is mind blowing and it is very beautiful performance:)

Every live performance from Aurora is a pleasure to watch and listen to. Some suggestions are It Happened Quiet Live at the Current or Churchyard and All is Soft Inside live at KEXP. She is consistently awesome. Enjoyed this one and look forward to some more great reactions!!

For me this video has a definite 1920’s vibe. The one thing you can count on with Aurora is that all her songs are different. She has gone through many changes in her career. She is not a little girl anymore. She is a mature young woman who is confident with her ideas and performances and her music reflects that. She is a musical genius!

If you go back and really look at her she's in that song (always pay close attention to her movements or actions during the heighten parts of the song). She's not there on stage but there in the moment of that song, as the victim. ❤️

She is as vulnerable as finely blown glass and as strong as high carbon steel. Her art rips you open and heals you at the same time. Who does that? She is a siren in the form of a wood nymph. Resistance is futile.

Great reaction 🤗 “Runaway” is actually a more personal song to her, it’s one of few songs that actually are about her. She often stands on her tipi toes when she’s singing 😊 In an interview, Aurora was asked if the song was inspired by an experience she lived, she said: "I just think it's fascinating how people can be the same people, how you and I need oxygen, can have children, need to be embraced, we need food, water, that we smile at us... we need the same things because we are people. And it's just fascinating that some people can have in them the desire to kill while some people cannot pick a flower without feeling bad. That's about this I wrote 'Murder Song'. How can a man kill someone he loves and it happens often in the world. But he doesn't really understand what he did, it's a very complicated story. Her, she didn't want to be in this world anymore, and she knew that this man would do anything for her. She asks him to kill her and he said : 'Ok, I love you, I would do anything for you.' After he killed her, he became sad because she didn't move anymore and he didn't understand where she went. He didn't understand why she left and he start crying. And it is sad, because for the rest of his life, he will not understand and he will be sad." AURORA In another interview, she said: "First of all, I have a really vivid imagination. You know that these things may be happening to someone right now. It's kind of a terrifying thought. I just had to get that thought out of my head - and that's why I wrote this song. But the two characters are actually just made up in my head. I've written many songs about them - maybe I'll make a book with them." AURORA Could you please react to Aurora with: “Through the eyes of a child” live from Nidarosdomen (cathedral in Norway) 2017 This whole concert is so beautiful 😍😍 kzbin.info/www/bejne/pJSqaq2Kr9icqac

Hello, great reaction. Thank you. She will pull you into every song and captivate you. I saw it. She caught you. Please excuse me. This is going to be a long comment. But there is a lot to say about AURORA. I hope that I can help you with this. The song takes place in the time of death, of dying. The beginning of the lyrics: Five, four, three, two, one Five, four, three, two, one He holds the gun against my head I close my eyes and bang I am dead This is probably the saddest love song I've ever heard. A man shoots his wife to end her suffering. Can love be bigger and more painful at the same time than in this story? AURORA manages to make this pain palpable with her voice and her movements. You have seen AURORA's eyes. She wasn't on stage. She was somewhere else. You saw how deeply she was thinking about these two people, that she sometimes shook herself uncontrollably. I believe that she is not conscious of her movements. She's so into the story in her head that she's doing the moves in the story. I heard that AURORA was horrified by these movements when she saw the recording of the performance. That means for me that she did it unconsciously. Her empathy must be beyond measure. She spreads all her feelings that she has in this moment in front of us and lets us look into her heart and soul. There is no other way I can explain that almost everyone who saw this performance was affected by this story. AURORA is more than a storyteller, more than a singer. AURORA is a true artist. This is from an interview with Aurora: "First of all, I have a really vivid imagination. You know that these things may be happening to someone right now. It's kind of a terrifying thought. I just had to get that thought out of my head - and that's why I wrote this song. But the two characters are actually just made up in my head. I've written many songs about them - maybe I'll make a book with them." And in another interview: It’s just fascinating that some people can have in them the desire to kill while some people cannot pick a flower without feeling bad. That's about this I wrote 'Murder Song'. How can a man kill someone he loves and it happens often in the world. But he doesn't really understand what he did, it's a very complicated story. Her, she didn't want to be in this world anymore, and she knew that this man would do anything for her. She asks him to kill her and he said: 'Ok, I love you, I would do anything for you.' After he killed her, he became sad because she didn't move anymore and he didn't understand where she went. He didn't understand why she left and he start crying. And it is sad, because for the rest of his life, he will not understand and he will be sad." AURORA (Aurora Aksnes) was born on June 15, 1996 in Stavanger, Norway. She is a singer, songwriter and producer. AURORA's songs always have a strong message. Often the messages are not very clear either. They can be interpreted so that many people can relate them to themselves. Her movements when singing are extraordinary. This isn't a dance. This is her special way of expression. You can also say that she sings with her whole body. Her excellent music, her brilliant voice and her movements. AURORA's live performances are a total work of art. She is often so into the song that she shakes her body or head uncontrollably (--> Murder song, It happened quiet) and need 2-3 seconds to come back. She is capable of transporting feelings because she allows a look into her soul. Her fans call themselves warriors and weirdos. AURORA once said: People tend to believe quite quickly that something is wrong with them if they're not like the people they see in front of them It's so sad that it doesn't take much for us to really doubt ourselves - It Happened Quiet (Live at The Current) - kzbin.info/www/bejne/b4aQf2mCpt-Xf68 - it's about the rape of a woman - some say - these great harmonies - Lucky (Live at Nidarosdomen) - kzbin.info/www/bejne/d563mqSIZ8SJd9k - the song is her way of suicide prevention - Exist For Love (Official Video - VEVO) - kzbin.info/www/bejne/bYqnnKWAls52qNk - best love song ever!!! - Cure For Me (Official Video - VEVO) - kzbin.info/www/bejne/gWKalZluZrd_b7s - this cheerfulness of the music - even though she is hurt. - Queendom (Official Video) - kzbin.info/www/bejne/rYavloubhtCkmpI - about her queendom?? - Warrior (Live on the Honda Stage) - kzbin.info/www/bejne/f2THp3Zqqal8adU - it is for her warrios - Heathens (Live Performance) - kzbin.info/www/bejne/q6Wug2qqdtJjnsk - another incredibly profound lyrics I usually prefer her live performances. But in these cases the VEVO video is more impressive. Two important bits of information I found from another commenter: 1. -- In a recent interview she said "well, the last song I wrote is meant for my 7th album.” - AURORA's latest album, the fourth, was released on January 21, 2022. She's already in the planning for the 7th. 2. -- AURORA was a teen when she answered the question "are some of your songs related (on different albums)?" - it will all make sense when I have finished. - AURORA has a plan and we don't know the destination yet. But it is important to know that everything belongs together. Have a nice day and Greetings from Germany
