the real unlikeable characters are the 3 of you. The One Piece fandom is huge and love seeing new reactions from new viewers and you guys totally mangled the potential views and subscribers by being mean spirited. Dear reactors, I am exactly at 10:07, wondering why am I still watching this video. I globally agree with chats' opinion (though I don't want the three reactors to receive hate), I find your reactions frustrating/appalling but I might watch other videos of you just to witness your opinion (and the editor's work) evolve. Also, I might be wrong, but I think the person responsible for this channel is not among the ones reacting, which explains the lack of investment in the reaction itself. Not sure if this approach might work on the long term. +++ Quick message to the editor+++ Even though I only watched about 10 minutes, I am already confused by some of your choices. At 7:45, one of the reacting girls start laughing without us understanding why. At 7:50 you cut the comedic moment when Luffy wakes Alvida's crew while saying "which way in north" which renders the complete sequence incomprehensible. I will finish the video out of respect for your work and because my comment might seem harsh (which is not, at least that's not my intention) but please try to keep both the relevant story moments and the reactions to those moments in the upcoming videos. That said, I think my message was necessary. If all the person responsible for this channel wants is gathering few thousands of viewers, all OP fans that will go away once the reaction to the show is over, if it is just an online experience, if its for fun, than its fine to do things this way. However, if he/she wants to build and grow a community, than there is a lot to improve. @MitosisReacts I know that my first message was a bit harsh but it was not written out of anger or malice. I still think you have potential and I would like you to be successful (if that's what your aiming for) because I like one piece-related content and enjoy seeing small channels grow. To give some spoiler-free context that you ladies are missing: One Piece is over 1100 chapters long with a similar amount of named characters that results on a story that is on par with greats like Lord of the Ring, Game of Thrones, Star Wars and the Wheel of Time despite its extremely humble beginnings that start out feeling villain-of-the-day-esque. This first season adapts less than 50 episodes of it. In the greater context of the story, this season barely covers a tutorial area in a video game: all of it happens to basically introduce the main cast (as Luffy finds the initial few idiots to join his pirate crew) and core thematic points of the story while being set in the one of the most boring parts of the world. By the end of the season, you will reach the event that makes 95% of first-experiencers go from 'this is silly/weird/whatever' to 'holy shit give me more'. (And the silly part is that the live action doesn't even hit half as hard as the manga/anime adaptations for most people because they cut out so many details that lead up to the climax!) Rather than to say it is one of those instant-hit shows that implodes on itself and disappoints as the story goes on, One Piece reached its true 'phenomenon' status probably around what will be the fifth or sixth season of this show because the author tends to introduce a hell of a lot of things that only end up being relevant to the larger main story hundreds of chapters in. He takes a lot of time and care to develop the story beyond 'this arcs climax': the end of the story is something he already knew when he started writing! This, combined with the fact that time is always moving and side characters get attention down the line, makes it so this world feels alive which makes fans freak out over small cameo appearances of characters they haven't seen in ages as all of them tend to be memorable in their own way and it is cool to see how the passing of time has treated them. Finally, it bears noting that One Piece is an 'has it all' type of show that has as much serious and sad moments as it has lighthearted comedy to offset it. Due to its origins being a visual medium, a lot of things are gags that are hard to translate: for example, Luffy eating the fruit (which is supposed to be disgusting) originally happens in just one or two panels as Shanks wasn't paying attention as a silly gag. This is why people considered One Piece nearly impossible to adapt to live action: it is very incompatible with a lot of common-sense realisms. And yet unlike other recent anime adaptations like Cowboy Bebop and Death Note, its fanbase has ended up supporting it because it manages to do the story justice. Please enjoy yourselves as you watch the story, and keep in mind that having a slightly campy feeling to it is totally correct for as far the live action is concerned: the moral values and mindset of the people on the One Piece world can only be described as exaggerated and larger-than-life compared to the world you and I live in. Expect a mix of the Pirates of the Caribbean meets Indiana Jones meets Futurama meets.. pretty much everything else you can think of... but that is entirely its own internally consistent thing despite all of that! (P.S.: Naked Helmeppo is a liveaction original. Every single fan was floored when that saw that scene. It was the absolute last thing we ever expected from a live action show, but we loved it because it totally fits that asshole of a son that takes after his daddy.)

I loved seeing your reactions ❤❤, I just ask that you pay a little more attention to the dialogues, they answer many of the things you asked, One Piece is a worldwide phenomenon, and managed the miracle of having all genres within this story, comedy, drama, horror, etc., if you allow yourself to connect with the characters, you will have many good emotional moments since the author has an incredible writing, One Piece has many strong messages but masked with comedy, if you only pay attention to the comedy and not to the depth of the characters, then you will not be able to enjoy the emotional side of the series, we One Piece fans can spend more than 1 hour talking about each episode, about what it shows about the characters and their motivations, anyway, i am very happy to follow your journey

No it's based on the Manga. The anime is theToei adaptation of the manga. Even the anime itself changed a lot from the manga, like Luffy stabbing himself or adding filler scenes between canon scenes, and filler episodes and arc.

You guys are hilarious! Please finish the season. One Piece is the second highest selling comic of all time just under Superman. That's why some of the comments are angry about you all questioning everything. Devil fruits are what give you the powers the gum gum fruit is the specific fruit Luffy ate. Most of them have colored hair and weird outfits because it's accurate to how they look in the manga and anime. Luffy is also known to be a bright and happy go lucky 17 year old for the most part so that's why the actor is constantly smiling, Luffy is often depicted with a big smile.

Maybe you should make some pause when you react, I understand that it could be frustrating for you but you're 3 so when you react and talk for too long it seems that you miss a lot for us, because it's already a new scene while you're still talking about the previous one. Yes, One Piece is an action/comedy show, the character have goofy designs, luffy's power seems stupid because Luffy is stupid and funny. Zoro have 3 sword because he is the badass character and to make him looks even more badass he fight with 3 swords, wich wouldn't make any sense IRL but that's the point, he is badass so he looks stupidly too much badass. I hope you watch the whole season, except the exploration part that come after these episodes, everything that make One Piece is here, the comedy, the seriousness, the epicness... PS: You talked about love interest, to be clear from the start, except for one specific character that have an obvious love interest, there is no character in Luffy's crew that have any kind of love story, the show is 100% about friendships and trust with his crew, love story can't possibly have a place in the show and the author made sure in the contract that he don't want Netflix to create any love story between the mains characters. Also Koby is supposed to be a boy, but yes the actor is a transgender man, yes he looks like a woman but I still find him convincing enough as a man, either way in the show he is a male character, but to be honest it really doesn't matter at all, like I said no love story you can think that he is a man or a woman it doesn't change anything to his character

As both an Australian and a huge One Piece fan I did enjoy quite a few parts of this reaction. I would definitely recommend watching the One Piece anime as it is a lot better than the live action, and some things just work better animated. The anime is extremely long and still ongoing but consider trying the first 30 episodes (they’re only 20 minutes long each) to grasp the themes and characters of One Piece. I would like to see your reactions to the anime!

kind of funny they didn't like koby at first. in the original stuff, luffy was the same way. he would tell koby he's annoying and lame and he hates him lol. would've been more fun to adapt that properly but i get it, it makes luffy seem unlikable at first. but it balances out with his happy go lucky that is often seen as annoying at first too

How you reacted to Coby, was pretty much the same as the protagonist: "He's annoying and wimpy, hate him." The author's disarmingly good, also incredibly knowledgable. There's a lot of his work that's based on real history. For example, the snail phones were something that was really investigated by a French inventor who wanted to make a snail telephone system (before phones were invented). You'll also notice the emotionality is strangely realistic; if a character is meant to be annoying, they actually annoy you, not a simulated "annoying character in a show" annoyed. Looking forward to the next reaction guys, subscribed.

Loved your genuine reactions. I know the show will be to your liking, and I agree on the fact that you don't have to enjoy everything from it, it is best if you don't have high expectations while watching, than expecting something it's not.
