For those asking what’s the problem: In South Australia, you should not reverse when making a U-turn at an intersection.

U turn gives way to all traffic, in that situation the u turning vehicle is required to abort the u turn and turn right into the side road.

in SA, (Driving Test Rules; immediate fail - breach of law if do so) 1. u cannot make a U-Turn when there are people (Dashcam driver) waiting at the intersecion and/ or 2. when someone is behind you ( the tesla) turning right.

It would be really really helpful to have the location listed at the beginning of every video like this. For those of us in Queensland there is absolutely nothing illegal about what we are watching. The situation is presumably different wherever this was filmed but perhaps the channel could list the location and clarify the exact rule that was broken for those of us who are scratching our heads....

Actually there is. In Queensland, just like other states, u-turns at intersections are illegal unless sign posted. Why do you think the Ute went to the right of the cam car turned around and the turNed left?

He would have been busted for failing to give way to the cam car. When doing a U turn in SA you must give way to EVERYTHING, even cars exiting private property. Sadly most people here don't know this (although it's on the test) and it's likely the cause for most accidents at T-junctions.

Was the ‘karma’ because the driver was in a Tesla? Or could any EV be nominated? That’s reminds me of the old Ford v Holden thing of years ago. Like barracking for a ‘ team’ because you bought a particular brand like “my hoover is better than your Westinghouse”. And just as silly. I couldn’t see what the driver did wrong but the police car might have been going to another job or the the driver of the Tesla did something off camera which ironically would be recorded on the Tesla cam.

When the dashcam car pulls out at the end and the camera looks up the road - there is clearly no car pulled over. In SA the police park behind with lights flashing. The police car was on other business. There was no karma to bite

Mostly I like these types of vid but that was a bit rough. I saw another 'rough' treatment of a motorist also technically in the wrong on another vid. He was in a line of traffic at a major intersection in one of two right turn only lanes and didn't have his indicator on. A motorcycle cop going in the opposite direction nabbed him. I was amazed so I went and checked the rules and, yep, you do need to have your indicator on if you're in a right turn or left turn only lane. It is a counter intuitive rule but rules are rules I suppose and ignorance is no excuse apparently....

Not sure. @ 0:47 you cannot see a no u-turn sign.. Unless it was on the right hand side of the video out of sight. But, the law states on main roads like that, that you cannot perform a U-turn anywhere unless it specifically states that you can. So you must assume that you cannot
