It's too bad we never got a fourth one, I was hoping they'd come back and continue the story. I remember hearing whispers and rumours about it being started a few times and then Verne Troyer passed away and that was it. I guess Mike Myers didn't feel like they had a good story and didn't want to crank it out just for the money, he only wanted to do it if he felt like it would be good, which I can respect.

Austin Powers is mainly a parody of the James Bond movies. For example Oddjob's hat throw, Sean Connery's hairy chest, Roger Moore's habit of closing his eyes when shooting his gun, Nr 2 from Thunderball, Blofeld and his cat etc etc :)

Literally the only flaw with these movies, especially the first one, is that some of the jokes could easily go over some people's heads due to them mostly being based on the older James Bond movies. I've legit seen people be suprised when they learned that Dr. Evil is a parody of Blofeld, mainly cause they'd never heard of the latter. Other than that tho, these movies are GREAT and , alongside the first 2 Shrek movies, represent Mike Myers at the top of his career.

I was curious a quick google search says he was sentenced to two years for rape. While in Jail he killed his cell mate. His account of events implies the killing was to protect himself, no idea if that's true or not.

every reaction I've seen always uses the edited version, which cut away the scenes of the happy families of the killed henchmen reacting to their deaths. edit: seems the US version has a lot of cut things, including the whole orange sherbet bits, and a longer conversation between Vanessa and her mom (including more "hide Austin's dick" bits)
