The original exterior front elevation was much better, and that little courtyard was integral to the design. Now it looks exposed and ordinary. Also the original buff color of the bricks was stunning. Much better and more up to date (as mid century modern) than the artic white and grey.
@MoonlightSonata214 Жыл бұрын
I agree. I was sad to see that little courtyard removed, and the original brick was so much nicer. I'm sorry to have to say the new exterior is awful - so BLAH. The colors are wrong, the window trim is wrong, the front door all but disappears. I wish I had gotten hold of this exterior to redo myself. The interior is a huge improvement, but is there any privacy on those large windows? I cannot see any blinds or shade housing, and would definitely need something there.

I agree they ruined this home. Painted brick outside and the fireplace. Only thing they did right was the leveling the floor. I'd fire their stagers. This slender window you have to bend down to see out. This is a complete nightmare to me

the house is beautiful and i LOVE the teal accent colors. My only criticism is that stove under the cabinets and the window backsplash. I don't Iike that window either. Give me a kitchen window I can look out of without bending over. And don't like the two tone cabinets. Those uppers look unfinished and the lowers are too dark. I live in the UK and am fascinated by the differences in descriptions and names for things. What you call backsplash we call splashback. Crown moulding we call coving, sheetrock is plasterboard, baseboard is skirting board, faucet is tap, although I appreciate some people in the US say tap too. Open concept is open plan. Cars have many differences too. Your hood is our bonnet, trunk is boot, rotors are discs, gas(oline) is petrol(eum). Then there are others. Diapers are what we call nappys, Jello is jelly, which is your name for jam. What you call chips we call crisps. What we call chips you call French fries. Cilantro, coriander, Eggplant, aubergine, Courgette, zucchini. Then there are words that sound the same (or similar) but are spelt differently. Carburetor (carburettor), aluminum (aluminium). Words ending in -or generally end -our in UK English, but sound exactly the same: flavour, harbour etc... Many words where you use a "z", we use an "s". Talking of "z", you say "zee", we say "zed". It's a funny old world, isn't it?

And while I'm not crazy about the color of the fireplace (maybe darker would be better?), I love that that color scheme is continued throughout the house, making everything very cohesive--even picking up the color of the pool! This house certainly looks great after, but honestly it looked great before, too. Also it had no structural, plumbing, or electrical problems. Horrific pool aside, I'm just not sure why this one needed a flip. This is the kind of flip that really just makes the house (and thus the market) more expensive without providing real substantive improvements. I mean a bigger kitchen is nice but honestly the original kitchen was in good shape and had a decent layout. It was "small" only by the standards of the rest of the house. This wasn't really a fixer-upper, it was just a slightly dated midcentury charmer - and there are people who go for that. And why is it such a problem that you can "only" fit one car in the garage? Again, it's a super cute update, but *this* is the kind of flip that locks more and more people out of home ownership in the first place.
@carlotta4th2 жыл бұрын
Look at the market. Buyers are almost never going to go for a dated 70s house--they want new and clean. Does the house itself "need" it is arguable (does a house need anything but working water, electricity, and storage?) but there will absolutely be more buyer demand for it post renno than pre.
@aluckey12342 жыл бұрын
@@carlotta4th They priced a first time home buyer out of the market by flipping this house. As an austinite who's been looking for over a year in this market, it's frustrating to see. This house would have been a perfect starter home for someone willing to put in some sweat equity. Not to mention they removed charm, painted over beautiful brick, and made inpractical design choices. Tile-ing in the bathroom looked horrenous. I hate to leave such a critical comment because I like these folks and this channel, but I wish they would stick to the "uninhabitable" places.

Probably the best kzbin.infoUgkxYGamVaHfdHiPlAQaLa7zkwR02OKpGYDU on building a shed is hardly found ever . And Ryan takes the mystery out of different types of foundation options, etc. He even shows how to build shed with different designs. Very comprehensive, covering different roofing materials, siding, etc.

Yall have got to open up in abilene tx! The city needs yall! The flippers there are horrible and the houses are in need of saving. We looked at 63 houses trying to buy and they all needed a TON of work.

Love the channel, but some of the design choices are super cheugy! That kitchen was so modern and beautiful!!!! But then the accent walls and colored fireplace feels dated and DIY, loved the bathroom minus the overtop wallpaper that didn’t fit the modern vibe. And the dining room wallpaper felt so out of place…. But love watching the flips! Thanks for the vids!

You need flip more houses so I can watch more video’s. 1 a week would be. Great 😊 Now when I see a converted garage I’m like “you need to level this out to match the rest of the house”

I love the fireplace! The kitchen & the pool are gorgeous, too 😍 I didn't think that I would like the flowers, but I really loved it in the end. I don't like the black & white tiles, but I'm sure your buyer will love it. Great job

Love the colors and staging!! HOWEVER, the kitchen stove doesn't seem to allow any type of tall stockpot. Would have liked to see a sleek statement fan above a GAS cooktop.

You two are hilarious. I am dying over here. I've been loving watching your videos. It gives me inspiration for the eventual purchase of a home and renovations.

looks great guys! My only concern was the height of the cabinet over the range seems a little low?

there's a vent hood built into it.

Thought it was a light but I guess you can see that it's a vent. 26:50

I love the window backsplash but would have made it bigger so you don't have to stoop down to look out. Also, the sink (where you stand and need something to look at) would have been an idea rather than the cooktop, imagine the grease and splatter! Also if the window was one that bifolded open like a patio door would have been spectacular for the summer and to be able to be a pass through.

I love the color palette of this house! Really nice. The fireplace and kitchen are great! I'm not on board with the bathroom wallpaper, but everything else is spot on 😎

This is the style and vibe I was looking for. Not so masculine nor feminine but got that fresh outlook that would definitely be highly recommendable with my partner ❤️❤️❤️

I think I would take out that one cabinet over the stove and look into a range. I love the window behind the stove. I saw one in another house and have become obsessed with having one in my kitchen, one day.
