The transformation that made to the build is phenomenal. Soon you'll be able to plant a veggie patch and move in permanently lol.

lookiiiin good bro! you should be proud. hey just an idea but have you considered making the section above the mantle from wood logs instead of stone? would give nice aesthetics. you could secure them invididually to the uprights with your peg in hole system. might be easier? i dunno, either way you got one impressive shelter/hut/house/mansion there!
@AlexDoes3 жыл бұрын
Mansion! 😆 You know compared to where I actually live it is pretty much a mansion lol. I hadn't considered wood above the mantle. TBH, after seeing so many wood fireplaces go up in flames on Alone I'm nervous even having the mantle piece as wood, and given that the part above that is forming the wall of the chimney I think stone will give a bit more piece of mind. In saying that I agree that wood would be a nice aesthetic and probably easier/quicker. l really would like to focus on walls a bit more because of the cold weather but the work kind of sux. I've had thoughts of temporarily wrapping the walls in tarps to trap the heat but then think maybe I shouldn't be such a softy and just deal with the cold...after all, it's hardly the arctic!
