Hi Karl according to this new administration report published by home affairs “Reducing the maximum age limit to 35 years old inclusive (previously 50 years old)” means students who below 36 years old can apply right ? With the word “inclusive “ I believe it clarifies the upper limit of age. It says previously it was 50 which means below 50 and now it’s 35 inclusive. What do you think Karl?

@ChamilVimukthiMadusanka8910 ай бұрын
@@ailsaustralia is there any way to clarify this ? Can we ask from Home Affairs for clarification regarding this inclusive means below 36 ? Because if we check their other visas like subclass 462 work and holiday visa it says be 18-30 years old (inclusive) and they further explained “If you apply for the visa while you are 30, but turn 31 before we have made a decision, we can still grant you the visa if you meet all other requirements” which means anyone below 31 eligible when the term “inclusive” applies. I think in this case if they say 35 years old inclusive means same scenario should apply but i think we need confirmation from them.

Hi karl, Thanks for updating. The denial of 485 visas to students over the age of 35 who are already studying in Australia is heartbreaking. We came here because we agreed with the existing laws. International experience is a way to find a good job in our country. Do you think they will give the current student a transition period or applying grandfathering law for this age cap?
@minervali63110 ай бұрын
I think we should stop saying this international experience thing. The international study business has always been pretty clear, international students pay astronomically high fees for a few years in exchange of the post graduate work visa, which will give them a chance of employment and then eventually migration if one is competent and lucky. This is the reason many many people are willing to accept the high fees. It's basically fees for work visa. Now they are rescinding on their end of the promise. Most people aren't paying the fees for Australia's "world class" education, because the education quality is simply very average. People are paying to get the post graduate work visa.
@estellebright25799 ай бұрын
@@minervali631 you just view this issue from a different perspective than international students. Australia's education is not world-class compared to some of the US universities but still quite high on the rank, but it's the students who will find ways to take advantage of the resources they had during their study, from access to expensive programs on cheap price or free to meeting all kinds of people from around the world to liaising with professors, tutors and so on, eventually passing exams and enjoying the university experience. If someone really wants to obtain overseas work experience, they can just choose the cheaper pathway of 482/494/186DE. Heck, even 407 training visa is a good alternative, and the cost is low as well. It seems counterintuitive to obtain 485 visa by spending very expensive international student course fees and several years just to be eligible for that vaunted 485.

last time during the senate hearing DOHA basically admitted they process recent applications first before going back to deal with the backlog. My guess is DOHA probably didn't pick up your visa and put it into a queue for processing last year, and they might have forgotten about it. My experience for my 190, submitted on 12 Mar 2023, was picked up by DOHA on 05 Dec 2023 and received the grant letter on 13 Feb 2024. I knew they picked mine up because they sent "IMMI Assessment commence" email after calling my phone to confirm if I wanted to proceed or not. The Australian Home Affairs blaming immigrants for housing and pricing issues is a simplistic and unfounded excuse. It overlooks the complex factors contributing to these problems and unfairly targets immigrants. Such a one-dimensional explanation is lazy and fails to address the root causes of housing and pricing issues effectively. Population is never the overload, instead, this is the supporting ground of a healthy growing country. In China, we have a very applicable phrase to describe the behavior of Australian home affair policy makers, which means "Burning bridges across rivers." It symbolizes the destructive and shortsighted nature of blaming others without considering the consequences or addressing the underlying issues.

If you don't disclose it, your visa will not doubt be forfeited later on. Better to disclose it now than be sorry later. I had known a friend in similar circumstances and he kept quiet and applied but DHA will ask for each and every evidence and scrutinize every day of how you spent your life after your birth. His visa was ultimately denied and got a 5 year ban as well.

Hi Karl, considering reduced invites for General skilled migration. What would be future of processing time for 190 and 189 visas? Waiting from 10 months

Hi Karl, Just to bring to your attention that in Pakistan, the student visa rejection rate is around 77% due to political instability. And, students like me with their education from highly reputed institutions and stable financial background are also in confusion about their applications. Sadly, we are not responsible for this instability, but since our new government is not made yet, there is no one to raise this concern with the Australian government.

The student visa mandatory condition 8208 (basically no critical technology study without prior approval) now has a list of "critical technology" that student doing master by research or doctoral degree would need minister approval before continuing the study. The list is below: Advanced manufacturing and materials technology Artificial intelligence technology Advanced information and communication technology Biotechnology Clean energy generation and storage technology Quantum technology Autonomous systems, robotics, positioning, timing, and sensing technology I reckon students from certain countries will have an even harder time getting their student visa granted smoothly, much less getting granted quickly. Students from Iran already cannot switch courses without minister approval. Australia is ramping up its efforts by limiting who can study what. The related legislative instrument "Migration (Critical Technology - Kinds of Technology) Specification (LIN 24/010) 2024" and "Migration (Designated Migration Law - Visa Condition 8208) Determination (LIN 24/009) 2024" were released on 15 Feb 2024.

And my question is if there is a rejection on her visitors visa, will it show any impact on the 491 Subsequenet entrant that we lodged for her already or any future applications? If you could please advise me in this regard, I'll be very grateful. Thanks in advance.

During the interview the interviewer asked some unnecessary questions and comments about our names compare to there culture and it’s was like a spam call it was not professional. In the end we received an email that she got rejected because her non academic criteria not satisfied for them. There are no jobs for these graduates in Australia - the government has no clue of what is happening on the ground in the employment market. Grads are stuck in dead end jobs and at worst working in jobs which have nothing to do with their degrees. They are also competing with local grads coming out of uni in Australia who usually get first stabs at grad jobs. The government is brain dead setting false expectations.

Cant wait to see the outcome of next intake student visa on GST basis. Will GST be actually able to recognize who is a genuine student and who isn't? Lets hope so.
@ailsaustralia10 ай бұрын
I think it will be the same rubbish criteria
@estellebright25799 ай бұрын
GST is just a rebranded GTE for the most part I'd argue, with one notable change that student can clearly state their intention to migrate without being penalised. The onus is still on s65 delegates (aka case officers) to apply their training and skills to filter out non-genuine students. What's more impactful is the possible change of subclass 500 criteria. Will they add 485 as a visa that the applicant cannot hold as the last substantive visa to be eligible for onshore student visa grant? Will they limit how many student visas one can be granted while onshore? Still a bit of unknown.

Uk is kind of doing the same thing had high imogration, so cutting the numbers and no dependent for a lot of visa, then a lot of people are finding Canada hard to live as a student. Canada has a 30% in take but almost 20%, leaving rate. I can see most of the imogration into Australia, will start coming from UK and the European again as trade people are at a high level compared to alot of countries, also Students who have done there Masters in the UK and Europe will be more likely to get a PHD offer in Australia as they are more likely to get a visa.
