When a pregnant human woman is made into a vampire, her child is born a “dhampir” (“damn-peer), both human and vampire. Tempted by blood, but able to walk in the day, they are known as Daywalkers. Speed, strength, regeneration and senses of a vampire, they have the ability to sense vampires, and in certain cases are known to hunt them.
