It's great to see another 80 Series being cared for and (relatively) restored. As time goes on, these classics are becoming rarer. Unfortunately, many of them fall into the hands of new and younger 4WD enthusiasts who often modify them extensively to create the ultimate off-road machine, and quite often end up butchering them. Long live the 80 Series.

Great work! Seeing this makes me want to work on my own 80 Series FZJ80. Mechanically, mine is in great shape with only 153,000 km on the clock. However, the body isn't perfect. It spent the last 10 years sitting on my sister's driveway, hardly driven and exposed to the elements, before I got it from her in 2018. Now, it's being used more often and taken off-road touring (they never took it off-road once). Unfortunately, it still sits outdoors and is exposed to the elements when parked at home, as it's too tall with the RTT on to fit in my garage. But she's a keeper, and the body will be restored in the future. Love my 80. ❤

What a pleasant change not jumping on the bandwagon of one particular company. Love our 62, wish there was a way I could afford an older 4wd to learn

To be honest it’s been years since I’ve owned a fully solid axal car so I’m not fully on top of what’s the best and not these days. I had run king springs in my 105 series I had years and years ago and they seemed like a good spring back the. So far they seem okay but the true test is time so we will see how they go in the long run. Thanks for subscribing, I hope you like some of the content. There is a “ project car “ playlist if you wanna watch all of the 80 series content so far.

I must have missed the bit where you tested the car on the original suspension? Also what was the weight / height readings after the lift? With so many suspension options on the market, it’s hard to make an informed choice given the amount of false advertising and marketing and influencing. Where are Fulcrum made and what is the warranty?
@Australian4x4Adventures11 күн бұрын
The video was getting long enough as it was between the explanations of how we fixed Gumby and then the install. I did say at the end of the video that the 4wding part of the review will be in another video which will include the before and after suspension install. The heights after the lift were kind of irrelevant to put in because it only suits my car with the weight it has. If yours is heavier or lighter then it would be different so I didn’t feel it would be accurate to everyone if I included it. As far as where it’s made and warranty I’m sure all that can be found in their website. ( I don’t actually know myself ) Thanks for watching

@@Australian4x4Adventures I found the segment very engaging - well done. I wanted to see more! I had the exact same car back in the day - it was very capable off road. I regretted selling it so am very jealous you got one for $4K!

Thank you for the kind words and positive feedback. I put a lot of effort into filming and editing this one so I’m glad it came through in the finished product.

Fulcrum is Australian made / manufactured and has a 12 month / 20000 kms warranty. Was actually surprised that ARB suspension is now made in Thailand! Well not actually surprised given what they did with their job keeper money after Covid.
