Oh man, this was... just an incredible production. Lol 😂 But seriously, it's honestly kinda sad that that this is what we often get out of such an important topic like first contact. It will happen sooner or later. And so far, we aren't REMOTELY prepared for that moment.

Considering it broke out of an Area51 installation, they would have had precautions like those of the CDC in Walking Dead, except far more extreme. The facility would do an automated lock down then likely a thermonuclear explosion. Everyone and everything in a 10 mile radius would be turned to ash instantly - hence the reason they prevent neighborhoods and such from being built too close to these type of facilities. Still, good movie though given its budget.

@@cindyhimes Okay, but The Mist is not about alien abductions. I found Spielberg's TV series quite good. There's also the movie in which people are sucked up into a ship and find themselves in a yucky environment; slime everywhere! I think it was Skyline. The ending was gruesome, but too abrupt.

Saves on special effects costs, usually, but this film had good enough effects anyway. Another reason is it ramps up the fear and uneasiness factors, if the lighting is near to non-existent.

Easier to control the lighting, throw a ND lens on the cameras, lots of small accent lights and bounced lights. Kenos are cheap and easy to use. They r florescent bulbs. Saves on big generators and lots of main wire trunk runs. U can do a lot more with with small lights. Then half a day of prep laying out 1200 amps worth of 5 wire 4 ought runs that go 1000+ feet and distro boxes every 100 or so feet. Takes a lot to lay all that heavy cable down and pick it back up and move it. Not like working for Michael Bay and u got 20 12kw g ennys running, plus operators and fuel trucks and all the support. Movies expecailly night exteriors take a ton of lights, power, man power.

Off hand, I'd say the British seem to be weak on safety protocols when it comes to dimensional portal management. And I find it odd those creatures could be capable of the sapience to build and operate the portal.
