Btw he's been swatting off doping questions his whole career and was named in a leaked TUE document by 'fancy bears' (or something like that). In tennis you can take named substances of you are injured, Rafa is just back from 6 month foot injury, he seemed to be moving very well to me... I don't want attention lol, I just saw some interviews of him and he seems very suspicious line Mo Farah. Also he's been associated with a Spanish doping doctor in the past, as has Ferrer (David).

I am a Federer fan but I swear my heart filled up with so much happiness as I witnessed Rafa fight and earn his 21st grand slam. It was such a great match, and I'm not exaggerating when I say that I learnt a thing of two from that match too.

I gave up on RAFA after he lost the second set early this morning. I didn’t think that he can win 3 straight sets knowing about injury he had. I was so surprised to wake up and find out that he won. I am glad i was able to watch the replay of the game and saw how amazing he played the last 3 sets. He has the spirit of a true champion! Congratulations is not enough to recognize what he achieved today. I am forever a fan. Vamos RAFA!

I gave up after staying up to 3am seeing him down on the third set. Fell asleep disappointed. Never knowing woke up to this unbelievable replay. I turned my phone off until watched the rest of the sets. Just WOW! So much inspiration from this match! When we are at the low, when everyone is giving up on us, when everything seems to our disadvantage…just look at Rafa! one more push and miracles can happen.

I was roaring for him to come back. I wanted him to win but knew medvedev had the upper hand. After the 4th set when Rafa won his 5th game, that’s when I starting thinking he could turn it around as he had the momentum. But it was very up and down the whole match!

You just cannot ever count this man out until the moment he hangs his raquet. To be in crutches 2-3 months ago, and to see him holding the trophy today, is just wild. Insane. There are no words. I am still in disbelief even as we speak, and i think Rafa will need some time as well to sink this in. We have all watched something incredibly special, and we are privileged to witness sporting history.

I'm a Roger Federer fan and for many years I have hated Rafael Nadal for depriving Roger in many GS finals. But I have come to appreciate this champion not only for his prowess and fighting spirit on court but his humility off it. Both Rafa and Roger are true role models for the tennis world, and nothing except Father Time will be able to defeat them. Congratulations for a wonderful achievement, Rafa!

Well said. I totally agree with you. He is such a role model. As a tennis coach, my kids and their parents always ask me who is the best player to follow. I have a bunch of favourite player but I always tell me students the most impressive record in professional tennis is that Nadal has played three decades of high level tennis without once breaking a single racket. That is beyond any other record - it shows his character has never faultered - not even once..... The second most impressive record is Safin breaking 1500+ Head rackets 🤣

After all those heartbreaks for 13 years, final losses, withdrawals due to injuries, this one will remain in the memory as long as the memory lasts. The way it happened, someone up there must have taken great time to write Rafa's script. 2 sets to 0 down, triple break point down versus the best player in the tournament in his prime. ;And then he comes back, climbs a mountain and prevails at the end. All the while bearing unimaginable mental pressure of not only #21 but of the AO demons returning to haunt him. Awe inspiring, stuff from the GOAT!

Against all odds: 1) coming back from a career near ending injury(müller weiss syndrome) with almost 6 months off court 2) playing against a hard court specialist that Medvedev is 3) being 2 sets down, win predictor as low as 4% starting the 3rd (most recent time he came back from 0-2 was back in 2007) 4) 6th AO final, and only win was back in 2009 so 4/5 of the finals he blew until then 5) 13 years apart from his only GS win at AO

The greatest of the 3 who’s to say. All 3 so different yet such a slim margin among them. It’ll always be Nadal for me even if he’s 3rd because of the grit. Growing up watching Connors thinking we’ll never see anything like that again. No knock or shame for Jimmy but Rafa has brought it like no other. Every time he wins it’s David slaying Goliath

Just when i thought we are done with Goat race because Rafa and Roger are likely to hang boots and Novak is clear favourite to takeover them. This guy wins another slam which i had least expect him to win and now he has a great chance at RG too to make it 22. But hey Novak isn’t too bad at clay either, he would love to make it 21 with 3 times career GS. Seems like this race will keep on going and rest of the players will keep on getting frustrated.
