Bought this to diagnose a 1998 F-150 and a 2002 Dakota. Not exactly sure what the problem was with my Ford but, this device was able to reset my truck's computer and it took care of the problem and passed the emissions test just fine. The Dakota has a broken O2 sensor which I replaced after watching a UTube video on that. Then, I had the device reset the computer in the Dakota saving $160.00 that the shop wanted to do the diagnosis just because the "Check Engine" light was on. Make sure you run your vehicle for one week after resetting it's computer before having a shop conduct the emissions test.

looks like you have a lean fuel mixture shown in the short fuel trim, a normal reading at idle is 5+/-. check for a vacuum leak!!

Can the OBD read while the engine is off with this? My kept saying linking error.

Intake air temperature 6 oC? That's well low. It must have been a cold day. I dont think ive seen mine ever go as low as that. Thanks for the upload

hi I have bought this, i have abs lights and also within stopping my car, there is transmission issue with my local mechanic using scanner and fix the transmission issue and each time i have to pay $20, i thought i could buy the scanner and fix the abs lights too, how wrong i was, i have not be able to use it ms509 for anything so far.

Hallo guten Tag sorry ich kann leider nur Deutsch aber vielleicht kann mir trotzdem jemand helfen ich habe den Scanner im Jahr 2004 gekauft und leider nicht ausprobiert weil ich nie ein Problem hatte und recht es sich ihn nie benutzt zu haben und der Kundenservice miserabel bis garnicht klappt die sagen Pech gehabt. Nun meine Frage sobald ich ihn im pkw in den OBD Anschluss stecke geht zwar im Scanner das Licht an aber weiter bleibt es dunkel bis auf das Licht steht da leider nichts hat vielleicht jemand das auch schon gehabt und kann mir ein tipp geben was ich falsch gemacht habe oder machen muss damit ich auch was lesen kann wie gesagt es wurde nie benutzt und jetzt wo ich ihn brauche bleibt er in geheim Schrift bei jeder Taste die mann drückt kommt ein Ton aber man sieht ja nichts also Strom kommt also im Scanner an und weiter leider keine Ahnung. Bin für jeden Tipp dankbar. Gruß Christian
