I appreciate that. Some people hate it. Trick is you can hit skip twice as soon as it starts and skip the intro entirely. I tried to tune it like that for people who want to get straight to the content.

I have what looks like the same case, but my smart controller won't fit in that bottom compartment with the handle attached. Did you do any modifications to the case? Very informative video by the way.
@CaliforniaPhantom3 жыл бұрын
Absolutely. I took just a little foam off the very bottom and a little off the floor of the foam that is removable. I just set my controller in and pushed down on the foam so I can see the crease of where to remove. Used a pocket knife and simply carved it out some. Just make sure to take the sticks off each time; it will never fit with the sticks left on. Also have an awesome antenna upgrade for $7 for it as well.

@@CaliforniaPhantom I made the modifications and it fits perfect. I couldn't find your $7 antenna upgrade. I do have another question though. I was wanting to plan a mission for a mapping project with my smart controller and there was no google map to be found. Do you know if I need to install something on the controller before I can see a map? Thanks again for your help.
@CaliforniaPhantom3 жыл бұрын
@@RiverbendBicycles amzn.to/3FCFgGO is the link to antenna. They really improve the transmission. Only $7-$8. As far as map issue; you have to go to settings. General and switch to map box. That should enable maps to come up. Not sure why it’s defaulted off, but that should fix it. Make sure you have internet connection and you should be golden.

Q: Where did you get or how did you make the gloss black FAA/Phone Number labels. I have Black/chrome/White printed sets from Decalgirl, but the black is a great idea for a stealthy "it's not there unless you are looking for it" look.
@CaliforniaPhantom3 жыл бұрын
Exactly the look I was going for. I use this Etsy seller that I have had for years: www.etsy.com/shop/LittleBitsDecor?ref=yr_purchases LittleBitsDecor on Etsy. It’s like $4 or so and you can request whatever dimensions, in whatever font in whatever color you want. It doesn’t get much simpler and inexpensive that that.

As always, another great video. I love your idea of wearing a body cam, I just ordered a body cam. I thing it will actually work better then messing with my action camera. How do you wear your body cam, is the cam clipped to a shirt pocket or attached to the collar? Thank you.
@CaliforniaPhantom3 жыл бұрын
I appreciate it. I use a reflective vest and it has an area on it where I can clip it. You could get away with a shirt pocket I’m sure. It definitely comes in handy.

You make it sound like it's very thin on the sides if someone were to pick it up from the sides near the vents.

Have you had any problems with the controller discounting or restarting on its own during flight?
@CaliforniaPhantom2 жыл бұрын
Zero. I put aftermarket antennas [link in description] and increased overall connection and range. I did have to trim just a tiny bit of plastic on the antenna connector itself as they were too wide to go into the ports on the controller. My dremmel took care of that in 5 minutes. You having signal connecting issues? You try to re-bind it?

@@CaliforniaPhantom yes, while doing a ‘Mission’. I created a short test mission, while flying it the controller just turned right off. Weird. I’m going to check the firmware and see if it’s updated. @@BigSkyImagery yeah one of my first drones came from Droneworks and it was a massive headache. I don’t mess with them anymore. I’ve used Wellbots with mixed results, but Advexure for me for life. They are always 100% on their game and they ship crazy fast. Seemed like I had my Lite+ a week before the KZbinrs 😂.

Nope. Just a hair above the frame of the controller. Never sticks. Only issue I’ve had is 50% of the time it auto connects to my hotspot and the other 50% it doesn’t and I have to manually cycle it.
@kkeil94493 жыл бұрын
No idea why people have cracks. Never had any and I've completely removed the skin on & off several times with 0 issue. However, it doesn't survive a crash very well, but what do you expect from such a heavy drone from 5ft above concrete. At first it was just an arm pin that broke, but upon more disassembly the aluminum frame cracked where the front arms attach too. Replacing that frame was a nightmare that required de-solder/solder all 4 arms. Luckily all good works great, better temps too, but had to find blue thermal paste to match stock.

Awesome that your that skilled to do that. You wouldn’t believe how many out there complain about this. I never understood how you can handle it so improperly for that to happen
