My grandson acts just like Connor but he's four (as of this posting). I don't know how any logical thinking person could say, "oh your kids are fine - they just need discipline." Makes you want to just... I'll say scream in their face to be polite. I knew something was off with my grandson WAY before he was diagnosed. My mom was like this. My daughter has epilepsy and she she ventured a short distance on her own (grown), I'd tell her to be careful. My mom said I was causing it. She said a lot of things she shouldn't have because she wanted us to be perfect. She accused others of being "sick" but truth was, she was bipolar. So anyone who denies the reality of autism or other issues that OBVIOUSLY or even sometimes subtly are valid, may want to look in the mirror!

Trouble is they don't transfer what they've learnt in one situation into another.

Autism speaks is problematic, but as long as you’re aware of that, and modify your life for what works for your sons then whatever…..just don’t use them as your ONLY source of information on ASD…..that’s all I would say (Edit: the thing is about autism speaks is they were like one of the FIRST if not the first charities for autistic children, and that kinda creates problems because they were kinda pioneers within the world of making people aware of the community because research was so new, and the community was so hidden…. I don’t know if that makes sense, but anyways over the years, especially the last few years have significantly improved……but yeah Autism Speaks is a tool, and like all tools can be misused and have flaws, so it’s important to remember to use other sources alongside it. I think you’re doing just fine with your sons. Stay strong and positive)

The teachers knowing that your little son is autistic and they just let him go that is ludicrous. Too bad they did that and I know this was five years ago and I’m glad he’s safe but still they should know better. I mean, was this the first day of school did he not have a School going home plan in his paperwork?
