About time you finally took a look at one of these 1zz-fe corollas! These really are good reliable cars with these motors. My dad had a '99 corolla he bought with 180k miles about 6 years ago and he drove that thing pretty much nonstop and put a LOT of miles on it. It sadly got stolen last august with 274k miles and even with that mileage it still ran great. He now has an '04 toyota matrix and I have an '04 pontiac vibe which both have the 1zz-fe. They've been great cars so far, and are very utilitarian thanks to the amount of space they have inside. Excellent option if you're looking for a good reliable hatchback.

The interior of those Corolla's was designed by Lexus and you can tell. Fitment, materials and flow is a work of art. 9th gen corolla is probably one of the highest quality corolla's ever built! I miss mine

I brought two during the last depression for less than 8K each with low mileage 2 years old used . 23 years later I still have it with no problem. I replaced all fluids belts and its tensions adjustments only OEM parts including plugs brake and rotors with OEM and it cost me $425.00 for 23 years old supply for parts Boths cars. It cheaper to owned Corolla than 6 years old Volvo for parts alone.

I once watched an old timer deal with hail damage with surprising success. On one hand he had a plastic sprayer filled with ice water. He would heat the hail dent with the torch and quickly shoot ice water on the dent….” Ping” the dent would pop back! It looked like the repairs were at least 90 percent successful!

Toyotas are the most dead reliable, economical automotive appliances out there. It will get you from A to B,C and D in relative comfort and no drama, but it’s an appliance. Basic transportation, and nothing about it screams anything. I still own a 200k+ mile Prius, which I have been blessed to loan out to someone for the last 2 years. It has needed nothing over that time. Cold air, hot heat, 35-45 mpg, what else do you need? (I’m not gonna answer that LOL)

That little Toyota is a lot better than my last car, which was a Rusted out 2009 Ford Focus, I trusted a used car dealership and got taken for a ride and lost out on $6500 , the rear subframe broke on my way home from work and bye bye transportation, the car I have now is a Pair of Reebok's and 2 legs but I still have a job.

My ex-wife and I had a Corolla just like that one, only silver and it was probably one of the most reliable vehicles I've ever had. She hit a deer with it doing 45mph and it still ran perfect. Toyotas aren't exciting in the least bit, but they run... lol

Barnum tires are sold by Discount tire. They are the cheaper tire below Sentury tires. Both are made by Continental tire if I remember Correctly. My dad has them on his prius and it's a pretty good tire.

I hardly ever ran an accident where a rider was at fault for the accident and the rider never won….. Now I see them in the hospital and clinics, the aftermath is horrible

That transmission looked over filled even though it was dark, it should’ve been below the hot line and it was over the hot line/side on that dipstick. It has a hot and cold on it, my 09 Toyota is always at the cold line where the little notches are on the stick, and after I drive it it’s at the hot side.

The staining on the headliner in the Silverado is most likely from a leak around the 3rd brake light. My 2008 Silverado 2500HD has some staining from the leak.

For the Chevy and the blinking check engine light is either a bad head gasket or a bad coil pack with an sparkplug

Hey I kid you not with that Corolla we had one come in with 230 k popped a head gasket due to a radiator leak pulled the head and the cylinder walls still had good original cross hatch that was what amazed me. All we did was clean the block and head not even surface it wasn’t warped. Threw it back together and sure as shit that car has now 300k on it and runs like a top. Man Toyotas are indestructible. You want reliable buy a damn Toyota 😂

Idk how you don’t get a choice when you are her parent also, but I will say this, we live in Myrtle Beach and there are soooooo many people killed weekly on scooters here! Here in SC if it is a 50cc you don’t need a license or insurance to drive on main roads! So many people that lost their license for DWI’s here buy beat up cheap scooters to drive! Add that to the rental shops having them for tourists. It’s really more those that live here using them because they will ride these 50cc on main highways that are 55mph! It’s crazy!!! Also, no helmets are required here for any two wheeled vehicles!

I would love to see that Corolla on the channel. I own a 2004 Camry with the 1MZFE and it has only required basic matinence and is at almost 280,000 miles. My girlfriend has a 2004 Corolla S and that is the most fun basic car I have ever driven and arguably better than my old 2006 Civic Coupe.

That Chevy traz had dented roof which will scare away most flippers. Its a Silva AYdo fer sure just like its Coloradah.. Great looking commuter work truck. I would swap out the engine for a low mileage wreck rather then fix the head gasket. The Saturn is flat towable and with the number of people getting into RV's and not having many affordable cars for flat towing it may be worth a bid.
