I’m on my fifth 95 now. The little pocket at the leading edge of the seat is a perfect place to store the key. One of the used Saabs that I bought it only came with one key and a month later I reached in the pocket on the passenger side and there was a second key!

Definitely agree with this, I *had* a 2008 93 sportcombi I absolutely loved for a few years.. a rough loss in the end but I recently got an 07 95 and can’t find much of/for them on youtube comparably. Saab central will always be there though haha, I wanna change or delete the (imo) ugly chrome headlight trim but forums are the only hope I got

To me this is a really cool feature - the little button near the power mirror control. when you put in reverse and press that button, the passenger side mirror points to the ground, this helps a great deal when reverse parking. I use it all the time now, and now sure if many people know about this feature. I know some people with other cars actually adjust their mirror or they even set their mirror to point downwards to help with reverse parking, our 9-5 just needs a little push of that button

Unfortunatly that function only exist on cars with both seat-memorys AND mirror-memory, at least here in sweden those are not so common, i have had it on one of my five 9-5's, not even my current Aero have it as standard, even if it have an electrically adjusted chair (with no memory) :(

Winter mode does more than start it in a higher gear, just drove my 2000 9-5 Gary Fisher wagon from Oregon to my new house in AZ a d it was a life saver, it transfers power to the wheel that isn't losing traction and it works surprisingly well.

Automatic locking is indeed a tech 2 option, it's under Body - TWICE - Adjustment - Central Locking, it locks at 12km/h (7.5mph), the automatic unlock on key removal is in the same category. If you press the boot unlock button on the keyfob while the ignition is on or the engine is running it will tell you how many keys are programmed to the car.

Since no other manufacturer offers those front seat pouches, they are a convenient hiding place for small items that only Saab people even know to look for. My '99 is full with blind punch--outs, even missing a boost gauge, ffs. My '06 is more complete, and it has the drop-down curb view rearview mirror when reversing. Another neat feature I expected you to mention when you were showing the drop-down console between the rear seats is the pull-out cup holder in the front of it.

Peugeot also has sport and winter buttons on their 405 auto boxes in the late '90s. My 2002 9-5 Aero doesn't have the extra buttons on the rear view mirror but it does auto dim at night when another vehicle's lights shine from behind. This can be switched off with a button on the underside. The switch in the glove compartment can be switched from ambient to cold, not heat according to the user manual. Mine has cup holders that slide out of the rear centre armrest instead of the lift up storage section. There is a remote fuel flap release in the front door and the rear storage area. There is a key hole under the small plastic cap next to the rear lights that opens the tailgate.

The car def has it equipped. You'll have to look up how to reprogram it probably through the door locks or window controls. You'll have to "speak" to the computer and tell it to turn the feature on. Sometimes people turn it off by accident and end up never being able to turn it back on. It's a standard countermeasure against car jackers.

Doubleclicking the lockbuttom on key makes doors not possible to open if someone break the glass to get in. Startsetting on acc can easely be programmed by user. If you cannot get inside the car bc it’s empty battery in the car and the key doesn’t work in the doorlock (or trunklock (on the stationwagons that has this option)) you could take out the small signlight in the left wing and connect 12v to the cables from the body and wait for like few seconds and then open the car with button on the key.

How hard is it to replace 2 doors on the passenger side of a 2006 saab 9.3 aero? Unfortunately I side swiped a truck like a total dumb ass I'm thinking grabbing some doors form the junk yard would be the easiest way to fix the damage 😰
@AutoAutopsy
@AutoAutopsy 4 жыл бұрын
Oh no :((( to my knowledge they’re not terribly difficult to replace. You can try searching on “saab WIS online”, as that offers many DIY step by step guides

Can you make/do you have made video about why you should buy saab. I was thinking that when im 18 i will buy saab but im not sure About it so if someone can like explain me more about saabs
@jdrancho1864
@jdrancho1864 3 жыл бұрын
No, no, no!. Unless you're made of money, stay away from Saabs. As intelligent as they are in design, including the features mentioned in the video, they are very unreliable. Since there is no dealer support, finding a competent shop to work on them is a challenge, and parts are getting harder to find, and they are getting expensive for the same reason. My experience is with 3 Saabs up to 2006. Maybe last gen (up to 2011) are more reliable, but my points about no manufacturer support still applies. Also, since they don't make them anymore, I hear that existing models are being bid up by aficionados, making it unlikely to find a deal. You are better off finding something in that class from Korea or Japan with plenty of supply and dealer support.

@@Yatuk1ng I'm in the US and I can only speak from my own experience. But my advice to you, free of charge, is rather than choose a car that is exciting and exotic, buy a car that is boring, quotidian and reliable as your first car. It may not help you with the ladies, but believe me, your bank account will thank you.

To add: I was, in fact, just watching Kyle Pancis' channel, where he explained how a PCV check valve going bad (a $10 part) can destroy an engine over time. It's those types of problems that I wasn't aware of before I bought my first Saab 9-5 that shaped my opinion of the brand. Do a search and check it out for yourself.
