I have searched online and asked around with other VW owner about the transmission problems but so far they don't have any problems with the wet clutch type. So, make sure if u wanna buy, get the Highline model as its the only with a wet clutch transmission. The price could be too steep but now VW are having promo on this car. 185K. good deal I think.

@mahmudurrahman46687 жыл бұрын
Hi Emma, sorry for the late response. not a regular person in KZbin. Polo Sedan is nice. you will enjoy the drive, it's quiet and stable if you like it that way. Meanwhile it lacks in some departments too. Like it's not as techy and updated like honda city/ Toyota Vios. But if you get the new one, with TSI engine i can guaranty you will love the drive. Volkswagen is a pleasure to drive. The bad thing- the maintenance cost. my 60k maintenance for the car was amount to RM 1850!!! With nothing broken or replacedd. I still couldn't take the amount. Service centre experience, I have tried Melaka, PJ, Sungai Besi..all the same. not good at all. I somehow think the people they look for the position at Service centres lacks serious attitude problem. They are no way close to the good service u will receive if u r toyota/honda user.

The car launched since 2016 and now the is still selling same engine, same gearbox and same chassis as B8.5 Passat R-Line. For reliability wise it is very much improved over the B7 Passat. So far no engine oil consumption lost and no issue of mechatronic. Common problem found is radiator water pump, oil sump and wheel speed sensor. These items usually change once problem settled. The resale value isn't super low, 2016 Passat 2.0 HL is still capable to sell about RM 95 - 100k. Not high but definitely not low
@phas3rrr2 жыл бұрын
The ones i saw in mudah are up to 135-145k for 2019 HL 2.0, slightly higher than elegance 2020 even. Technically i can sell my b8 ( a vw conti) for a profit 😂 Then again, it is partly due to new car stock is low and long waiting period due to chip shortage etc… and the fact that the facelifted ones have less power. The 1.8 resale isnt as good as the 2.0.

If this car were brought to the US and wasn't priced out of the segment, it would be a bestseller. I think VW underestimates the American Driving public if they were to do so. Too bad I've got a 2014 Passat SE with roof and 117000 trouble free miles. What's more reliable than any other car I've had, including my 2011 GTI with a DSG transmission that was manufactured in Germany that year. Reliable rock solid transportation with build quality, panel fit of Audi AND made in Chattanooga Tenn.! Original rear brakes recently replaced at 116,000 miles and original wiper blades. I bought it brand new, so I've luved with all 117,000 miles. V.W. Passat, DEFINATELY NOT a band aid box on wheels. You fill in the blanks on that one.

Of the dozens of reviews I've watched and read, this one has helped me the most. I have a small family and am looking to replace the family car - but we are car nuts, and I'm not ready to give up on life and buy a Camry quite yet! I was a little worried the Passat would be a bit too "beige", but I didn't get that impression from your review. I just need to go and drive one now. One question though if you don't mind - are cars in Malaysia generally lower-powered? I'm asking because your review indicates that 220hp is "lots", but here in Australia even the 280hp version (sold as the 206TSI R-Line) is considered to be pretty average power-wise. I mean no disrespect, I'm just trying to put some context around your comments, and knowing how the car you reviewed fits into its local market would help in that regard. In any case - thankyou for a fun and informative review!

GC Mah is one of the factor influence me to own a Passat HL. After a year of driving below is my own conclusion. Pros 1. Most powerful in D segment below RM 200k. Engine rev sound really good coz same engine as Golf GTI. 2. The car drive is really agile and the DCC allow to choose comfort and stiffer ride. 3. Interior space is as spacious as Camry but slightly smaller than Accord. 4. It is quite fuel saving about 11km/L in mix city and highway driving. Full highway drive 66L can go beyond 900km. 5. Interior build quality is greater than Toyota and Honda, slightly lower than Mazda. 6. The active info display looks really great, the layout even better looking than BMW and Merc. The head unit is full of information to play with. Cons 1. Lack of passive safety features such as AEB and blind spot monitoring. 2. Maintenance cost is high. Major service is RM 3k++. 3. Service center getting lesser nowadays and less convenient to do maintenance. 4. NVH is so so only, the tyre roar is incredibly loud.
@phas3rrr3 жыл бұрын
The nvh not so good? Sigh. Wonder if change to michelin ps4 can reduce tire noise Yes the 60k service is about 4k, very expensive Blindspot assist, acc, dynaudio, tpms, interior lighting, all im can be added at vw specialist workshop, but careful of the wiring warranty
@aeroline112 жыл бұрын
@@phas3rrr after 3 years owning the car, it is still a very great car to drive. I added AEB/ACC, blind spot and TPMS and all these are plug and play. The tyre roar reduced by changing other brands. But it is still not as quiet as Camry.

Does this car come with a ECO mode or is that the Blue Trainer option?, you skip over this one pretty fast in the video. I like the review of this car, it deffently makes me want to buy one
@aeroline115 жыл бұрын
Yes Passat 2.0 comes with eco mode. But barely use it because it shift to highest gears sooner as possible to keep it eco. This car best leave it at comfort or normal mode which best suit for daily usage. Sport mode is just too harsh for engine sound with high rev and very stiff suspension (DCC control softness and stiffness).

three things i would consider getting this car. 1.) CBU in Germany 2.) rear lights are boring, prefer a different design. 3.) R line interior and exterior package.
@aeroline114 жыл бұрын
Passat although it CKD in Malaysia but all parts are coming from Wolfsburg Germany. Compare to Camry it is CBU made in Thailand whereby Accord is CKD in Malaysia but most components are from Thailand. So Camry and Accord are Thailand made with Japanese badge. If CKD is not acceptable for you then don't ever consider to own BMW and Merc as most of their cars are CKD in Malaysia too. Don't ever said VW assembly lousy as it has one of the highest SOP and same assembly areas with Merc in Pekan Pahang. For your 2nd and 3rd it can be done in aftermarket.

@@aeroline11 I understand your point. I am sure they have strict QC to meet the standards. But overall of course I will still pick a ckd VW.

Well I would say this is the best D segment car in malaysia to date... and its even faster than bmw 320i. The only major concern that I have is the resale value. Sad but true, the conti cars are not able to hold resale value well. Not just VW, an E200 lost 150k in 3 years as well (or close to 50%), same goes for the C200 and 320i losing more than 100k in 3 years as well.
