It just puts you in a higher height tier. You're no longer the short kid, you're now the average height kid. Pick Up trucks, and raised vehicles still dominate the height areana. As 5ft 8 guy. I feel this in more ways than one. 😅. Im not the athletic height of 6ft plus people. But im not short like the 5ft 5 and under people. It makes me very height conscious when I drive. I hate when there is the left turn only and right turn only lanes and the taller vehicle blocks the view of the shorter car. PSA: if you're the taller vehicle do NOT creep up and block the view of the smaller car.

My first ride back in the 90s was an SUV. I had been driving SUVs since, until recently, when I got a sedan. SUVs do offer the more practical cargo area, but that's about it. Sedans (mine and the ones I've rented) are much less clumsy on the road. They handle and stop way better and, for this reason, are a lot more fun to drive than SUVs or minivans.

They're the automotive equivalent of mobility scooters for the disabled. My elderly parents drive SUVs and they love them because of disability-friendly taller seats. Maybe I'll consider them when I'm over 65.

Most small CUV’s have the same cargo room as a standard hatchback, yet get worse gas mileage, are more expensive and come with ugly body cladding. Why not buy a standard hatchback at that point? Suvs always have very poor design. They are clumsy, uncomfortable, have poor ergonomics that ends up being bad for the neck and back, poor cargo room for their size, petrol hogs, too high of center gravity making them prone to rollovers, and overall just useless if you live in a developed country. Only reason I think people get them is to put a cushion around their ego, having a status symbol. I'll stick with sedans. Much zippier, better fuel economy, much better handling, more practical, safer, and much more comfortable. I used to have an suv years ago, then when I got my first hatchback, I never want an suv again (and my neck and back is feeling much better now)

I've driven a few crossovers which I appreciate the higher ride height, but prefer a sedan for more road feel. Try the rogue sport or the regular rogue. I will say, just get a sedan over a sub compact SUV. I was gonna rant more on sedans being better than sub compacts but NVM. Its no longer true. I upgraded from an Altima to a Rogue. And refused to get a Rogue sport due to it not having more cargo space and having less fuel economy. It was the 2013 altima and I was going to get an SUV. the 2017 rogue gave a minor fuel econ drop but a major cargo space boost. Also I got a panoramic moon roof and speakers that dont crack. I personally just dont like sub compact suvs over sedans due to their smaller trunk space. But Im glad the kicks is cheaper and more fuel efficient than an Altima.

Every1 where I live drives either an SUV or a station wagon, and I've grown tired of those vehicle types. They also provide far, far more cargo space than I will ever need. 2-door cars can be impractical and cars the size and format of the VW Golf, basically a short station wagon never spoke to me. 4-door hatchbacks like the 2012 Honda Civic are halfway a station wagon. True Sedans speak to me in a way no other car has before. They just fit my bill. They're the perfect vehicular option for me, yet as of the deployment of this text, I'm still stuck with a 2012 Honda Civic hatchback. Halfway Sedan, halfway station wagon, which means it's NOT a True Sedan. I had a 2007 Honda Civic sedan gasoline/electric hybrid but the hybrid batter experienced problems and no mechanic in my little sh*t-sized town had the authorization to work on high-voltage batteries Hybrids have, so I had to sell it and get the next best thing: the 2012 4-door hatchback. Comparing them side-to side the Hatchback has more road noise than the Sedan, and the Sedan is from 2007, and it has greater comfort! So, comfortable sedans are my way, especially blue 1s, as colors of today's cars has de-evolved from colorful to colorless with black, silver & white being most common. Ugh. Blue comfortable Sedan. Period.

It is best to start off with a car so you can get a feeling of driving experience, if you get an SUV as your first car, you're going to regret it, they're not practical. I first drove my Papa's truck when I was 15, it wasn't a big pickup, but I can assure you that driving a sedan is a lot easier, you get a smaller engine, smaller car, so it's easier to control your throttle and steering, FWD is the easiest to control and the safest option, since your power is being delivered to the front wheels, AWD is heavier and consumes more gas, and a RWD car will deliver the power to your rear wheels which can lead you to trouble if you're not careful. A 4cylinder NA FWD car will be your safest option for a first car.

Sedans are so overrated. SUVs are better in any aspect. Safer in crashes, more comfortable, can go offroad, allowing you to take a vacation to a mountain or resist heavy rain or snow, can store more bags which makes them perfect for travelling, more spacious, bigger fuel tank which means more fuel than sedans. As for the instability that everyone complains about, just install good suspensions on your SUV and you're good to go. Hydropneumatic suspensions from Citroen can solve that issue. As for weight maybe go for an electric or hybrid SUV that has the battery under it, like Tesla cars (but not necessarily a Tesla itself) so atleast the battery can act as a weight to reduce even more the risk of flipping over.

Traditional CARS are fundamentally a bad design! They have lower clearance and less cargo capacity to start.... They are not as practical a design for everyday mobility needs like an SUV or Crossover. SUV'S/CROSSOVER'S are by far better! Ex: SUV's have easier ingress & egress. High center of gravity making them prone to roll over, bad handling, poor braking, not as practical or fun as a sedan, hatch, or wagons, poor cargo space (trunk space area in sq cm is bigger than the areas behind the rear seats of a crossover, but people always measure the whole area in cubic cm which assumes cargo to stack up and block rear window). Although Jeeps are cool and its the only suv I'll actually be willing to own, 5 spd mated to the 4.0L straight 6 either the XJ Cherokee or the Wrangler, if I lived in the middle of Africa or Siberia where there are no roads

Awd sedans are ok but Suvs are better. you see above traffic, with rear seats in my kicks up i can put my 4winter or summer tires in the back without having to put the rear seat down while in every sedan iv had you have to fold the seat flat then shove them from the back through into the interior. The hatchback design on suvs is superior for cargo in every way over a sedan Modern crossovers are built the exact same as sedans unibody construction, a bit taller for easy entry and better visability. Theres a reason that once people use a crossover that no one goes back to a sedan. they are the new better version of cars. Sure sedans still handle a bit better at high speed because slightly lower but most people are not enthusiasts and dont give a sh*t about handling and performance. People want good visability, they dont wanna feel like they sitting on the floor when everyone else is much higher, they want it to comfortable, quiet, carry there stuff. Only people who still buy sedans think all suvs are like they used to be, trucks ..which is NOT the case. Only true suvs that still around are suburban, tahoe, expedition, armada, seqouia, bronco. Everything else is build like a sedan but superior in every way an they all punch above their class. A compact crossover is better than a compact car just like a full size crossover is better than a full size sedan
