Autocar Track Day 2024 - 18 of the most fun cars on India's newest race track |

Autocar Track Day is back and as always the lineup is exciting to say the least. Everything from 1.0-litre, 3 cyl hatchbacks, to big twin-turbo V8 supercars makes this a dream lineup. What's also special is the fact that we have a new venue in the form of the CoASTT in Coimbatore but what remains unchanged is the driver. Narain Karthikeyan is as pumped as ever to clock in some hot laps.

It's a shame that Autocar India was not able to arrange a set of tyres for a car(BMW M4) shown in the lineup for the video. Rather just remove it from the video lineup during editing when you know you didn't actually put it to the pace. Have been following Autocar since years. Love the videos but was disappointed a bit this time.

3 seconds faster than a 750S, scarcely believable. Tire compound should be a factor in these timings, notwithstanding how condusive that track is for GT3’s huge wing.

I mean im not surprised. You would barely see a gt3 rs being a daily driver. And i personally think, the mclarens are overall a good package you can track and daily drive that car. Im personally more of a mclaren guy and i find this brand to be a bit underrated compared to the porche. But comeon who doesnt love that sweet flat 6 porche engine !

I'm honestly quite surprised with the Verna, Virtus and the Slavia. Only 1+ and 2+ seconds off an i20 and a Fronx! Don't get me wrong, I absolutely love the Fronx and the i20. brilliant cars. But I expected the 150hp twins (& Verna) to be much faster than them around a track. They were barely 1% faster. Changes my whole perspective around their performance. 🤔

Any thoughts of using a 4K camera setup? Love the videos of course, but the low bit-rate 1080p significantly hampers the experience. Some other feedback could be including at least one full on-board lap footage, say for the GT3RS. Talking about the track characteristics a bit more, and perhaps getting Narain (or whoever the driver is the next time) to narrate alongside driving, of course not during the pace lap.

On a track, manuals are not good unless you can heel and toe, which you can't in i20 because the accelerator and brake are far apart. That is why i20N in other countries get auto rev match for manual version.

I saw the bikes track video and i gotta say the RS457,RC390, Duke390 are quite fricking fast around the track ...the Ducati well its on another level

good video but still expected more to be honest! sourcing tyres is pretty rudimentary to this track event so thats a bummer, and higher quality recording would be a welcome addition edit - timestamps would be great too
