Renault/Dacia will commit a huge mistake by not launching the Duster with the strong hybrid powertrain. It's as if most of these European manufacturers intentionally hold back when it comes to investment in our market. No wonder they never set the sales chart on fire. They especially made a mistake by ditching diesel powertrains, but deliberately treating us as lower-rate customers compared to their home market won't do any favours to them.

duster hybrid is 1.6L engine which means extra tax for exceeding displacement by 100cc so renault might be making huge mistake by not offering hybrid, but they will also make mistake by making hybrid duster cost over 25L for 4.3m suv at that price you can buy XEV9e with 600km range and 300hp rwd EV why bother with 4.3m hybrid at 25L if they didnt ditch diesel, they would not have met BS6 norms and CAFE3 either. so diesel JUST HAD TO GO in order to sell diesel in today's time, you need at least 10% ev sales too

@7567_Rex I think the 1.5 litre limit applies only for smaller diesel engines. Additionally, the car is already over 4 metres long, so might as well provide a hybrid since diesel is not an option for most European manufacturers, but especially Renault with the Duster in this case. I fail to see any USP that it might bring to the table. If anything, who knows whether they might water it down in terms of safety for us just like how they were caught doing so with the previous Duster.
