Autodesk Fusion | Sketch Offset Enhancements (Sept 2024 Update)

Take note that everything mentioned here should also apply to offsetting new sketch entities as well. Hope this has been helpful. For those who have not updated, need a favour from you. Could you help me to check whether it is possible to perform an offset just by selecting the edges of an existing solid without projecting? If the answer is no, then this improvement was just added in this update, which really resolved one of my main gripes with the offset command.

On Fusion 2.0.19994 x86_64 (as shown in Help -> About), which doesn't have the improvements you show, I am able to offset from a solid's edges without projecting the edge prior.

Offset of an offset is a very good - and obvious - addition. Also, maintaining after deleting original is also fantastic for clean sketches and curves. (Like offsetting a spline and trimming after)

Thanks for these tutorials, they are really good. Offsetting from an offset didn’t work for me until I realized you have to have match topology checked on the original offset.

Great info since I haven't watched the official update video yet. Now if they would just give us a basic helix constructor and a clearance option in the thread dialog (for adjusting the fit of 3d prints.)

PSA - Offset of Offset will only work if both Offsets have had _Match Topology_ active at the time of their creation... On top of that you cannot FIRST select the feature ( the previous Offset ) before invoking the Offset Command otherwise it'll give you a confusing error about Match Topology not being active despite it being active. You have to invoke the Offset Command first and THEN select the feature ( the previous Offset ).
