Brilliant video and guide. Very professionally done. Even gave the torque settings. Love it 😍

Great guide. For the S3: Some steps I found weren’t necessary (maybe there’s more clearance on the S3 vs A3?). I didn’t need to remove the drive shaft nor split the ball joint to wishbone connection, just pushed the arm down to get clearance. On the downside, the wishbone and hub are aluminium alloy so the strut pinch bolt was seized SOLID and needed a blowtorch to help it come out (hammering alone just wasn’t working).

How long did it take from start to finish after taking the wheel off?
@themitch19732 жыл бұрын
Question for you. The pinch bolt holding the shock absorber to the knuckle have a habit of seizing and breaking most of the time. Its doeable to leave the shock in the knuckle if just changing the spring isnt it and just use manual pair of spring compressors. Not ideal but better than having to drill a broken pinch bolt out. What you reckon ?

So to take the strut nut off its h6 and 21mm but to put it back together it's h7 and 21mm... that makes no sense

Thanks for the clarification. Yes, there is an error in the video.

And not a single torque spec was mentioned xD Edit: Well, at least a couple of very basic ones in the end lol

Every. Single. Bolt. Completely over-torqued. This is why you shouldn't use an impact to install hardware. Where is the missing lug bolt? Would have been easy enough to replace. This is why I don't trust anyone. Piss poor maintenance practices.
@JH-sc7cs3 жыл бұрын
Only had 4 lug bolts to start with, hoping they corrected that with customer later. Agree with the over torqued bolts as they already tightened them hard with impact
