A neighbor bought one of these in 1990, and he let me drive it once. I have never driven anything as elegant and classy as that car. This was when a Cadillac was really a Cadillac!!! Nothing like the crap Cadillac puts out today.

Even if I never get to buy a car from you, it's worth the time to watch your videos just to hear your own unique style talking about the cars you're selling. But as a 59 year old man, I love those old Caddies too! The haters are going to call them "land yachts", and talk about how slow they are and how they don't handle well, but as you get older you appreciate comfort more and just being able to take your time doing things instead of always rushing around for no reason.

Great analogy.

I'm delighted you took the opportunity to do this particular model a second time. I cannot get enough of that car.. What can I say, I'm a Cadillac guy, born in 1957, which was a pretty good year for a Cadillac guy to be born. As a child, ALL years of the post-war Cadillacs were very much part of the national fleet. As a child, I was fascinated to pick out design details and marvel over their evolution over the years. And more than any other car company, Cadillac was a car that resolutely stuck with an evolution of the original model of the car, all the way to the bitter inevitable end. Specifically, high powered, massively proportioned coupes, sedans, limousines and convertibles. They all had that snooty 'look at me' look that only Cadillac was able to pull off. By 1992, the party was over. The beached whale Fleetwood that returned in 1993 looks like the box the Seville STS shipped in. Very ungainly proportions that just looked weird, and the passage of time hasn't done it any favors. Which is too bad, because an attractive update may have kept the model going. But probably not. The plant was retooled for this SUV onslaught, and it's been all downhill for traditional motor cars for the most part. Bland, boring, mostly reliable appliances. Whatever.. The 1992 STS allowed Cadillac to demonstrate it's atrophied design mojo, but they didn't continue in that direction with other models. The Eldorado of the same generation, was rather underwhelming IMO... Design on that one was restrained to the point of near anonymity, The taillights, fenders and grille from this 1990 Fleetwood.. (I know they call it a 'Brougham'.. Don't let them kid you, this is the classic Fleetwood.) would be an improvement, but Cadillac designers should have been able to do much better than what we wound up with. Love your channel.. it's like a box of chocolates for me, trying to decide which to watch next. So far, all have been informative and highly enjoyable. Keep it up !

I bought my son a 23,000 mile 1992 Fleetwood in 2010 for him to drive to high school that looked just like this one. What an amazing riding car. He drove it through his undergrad college years but in 2016 the digital instrument cluster went south so we donated the car. It only had 60,000 miles at that time and still rode great. He still comments from time to time that he misses that car.

how much did you pay for a 23k miles example?
@ross76844 жыл бұрын
@@dzgaming1 It came from the estate of a retired couple who bought "his and hers" Fleetwoods in 1992 and drove them only locally. They kept them in under ground parking which had free carwash for residents. I paid $3000 for the one that I bought. The body was in pristine condition but the interior needed a heavy cleaning.

I know this review is a year old, but I have just recently discovered this channel. I turned 18 in 1990, and I would have absolutely loved this car back then. What a ride! My dad had a ‘78 Sedan de Ville when I was a kid, and that turned me on to Cadillacs at a young age. My wife used to make fun of me when we were dating because I used to point out what she called the “old man cars.” If you know, you know, am I right?
@Sparky-ww5re3 жыл бұрын
Definitely brings back memories of a simpler place and time, for sure. When I a kid, my Aunt Marie had a 1984 Cadillac Fleetwood Brougham, (identical car as this 1990 Brougham, they just hadn't dropped the Fleetwood name yet, for the body on fame RWD V8 land yacht) and going for an hour and a half roadtrip to a family reunion when I was about 12. 20 yrs later I can contest, nothing made today that I've been in so far, rides like the big Cadillacs of that era. My cousin got brought the car when he needed a car for college, still owns it and plans not to sell it, as his grandfather worked at the engineering department of GM at the time, in Detroit, brought it straight from the factory and even got to watch his own car roll of the assembly line. I personally don't blame my cousin for refusing to sell it to me. Isn't that special.
@Skunked682 жыл бұрын
Mr Bill, your reviews never a disappointment. Excellent. And what a most excellent Caddy in every way possible, the only stink eye I give is a digi-weenie instrument cluster. The car makes me wish to fill it with another retired couple, good friends and relatives, trunk full of luggage and head to sunny Arizona for 5 months of winter, just like some old timer fat wallet relatives I had,as they used to do in the 70’s to mid 80’s. The main car they carpooled to Az in was a beautiful ginormous 76 Olds Delta 88 Royale with a monster Olds 455 engine. The last year each GM brand had their own engines. I recall Olds and Buick guys very upset with a generic Chevy 8 in 1977. Cinnamon red metallic, white vinyl top. Four door pillar-less. I remember the 76 Olds brand spanking new at family reunion and was the first year of square headlights. It looked so awesome. Eventually I bought it when it was 6 years old and under 80,000 miles, $1800. To this day, it was the best used car I ever had, and as good or better than most new ones. 250,000 miles, no leaks, no oil consumption, always started even at 25 below zero and setting outside, no block heater. Rust was the only thing at end years. The worst worn out freeze thaw roads it just floated and glided right over, couldn’t feel the bumps. Man, what a car !! Several times in perfect weather I had friend drive it, all four windows down for panoramic view of green, lush corn and bean fields of the country, and I sat in back, like being chauffeured in a limo, I looked out and the front seemed to go on forever. She was some car, no doubt. I think 14 mpg’s highway was respectable. Sweet memories, thanks for stirring them with this magnificent Cadillac.

Bill, Canada loves you. I love these Cadillacs. These are truly remarkable automobiles. When you see a car like this; heads turn, eyes widen, jaws drop. I have an Escalade which to me is the last vestiges of this now forgotten era of automobiles. Nothing like it was, but as good as it gets these days. These cars had class, character, personality, and exuded opulence. You know what they had too, in spades??? Room! This is your dream car in what looks to be in pristine condition. Finding a 1990 Brougham D'Elegance with such low miles on it is rare. Selling it seems a bit odd

These Cadillac's were for the better class of people. myself I own an 1987 BROUGHAM with11,000 original miles and the looks and the complements I get when I drive her I just love it. Harlem nyc!!!

I think the 94-96 lt1 Fleetwoods are contenders for the name of "last great Cadillac". 80 more horse power than this car with all the modern features you really need, it is a much needed refresh over the archaic brougham. Although this brougham arguably has more iconic styling. You said the 93-96 had weird aero styling but to me it seems similar to the 70s Chrysler/imperial fuselage styling when you look at how the sides curve out. Really it doesn't look too different than the early 90s town cars with the big headlights, you can tell they both wanted to get away from the boxy 80s styling. I do like how the 93-96 Fleetwood still has a small hint of tail light fins, they weren't wrap around lights like on the town car

I disagree. While you are correct the drivetrain is better in the 93-96...the interior leaves much to be desired. And that's a big deal. Plus,this one is the last with the traditional "Cadillac" body style,when you say the word Cadillac to most people,they think of this body,or an early 60's car.

I was born in 1970. This is one of the first three images in my head when I hear the name Cadillac. The other two are the ‘79 - ‘85 Eldorado and the ‘80 - ‘85 Seville. These were my dream cars growing up.

The last of the GM C-bodies and the end of an era. The 1980-1990 Olds/Buick/Cadillac C-bodies will always be among my favorites. And this one has the good engine.
