I empathize with her. But completely agree with you. Did she think this was some kind of joke? Is she some clueless southerner from Kentucky or Virginia who forgot to pack up on toilet paper and had to go out to get some? (bad joke about people's behavior, I know) I know Buffalo had been yammering about the snowpocolypse for at least a few days prior to this because they were talking about it predicting it while we, in Michigan, were dealing with a less devastating but still impactful fallout from this system a few days prior. 100 years ago something like this might be a surprise. But unless you all of a sudden woke up from a drug-induced stupor you knew this was coming for days. Sans an emergency, do a quick inventory, get your shit you need, and be prepared to hunker down for a day or two. Bless these folks who helped. I know I would have too, up to the point where it was risking harm to myself. But you know I would be shaking my head commenting about the average American all the way home.
