Honestly M340i unless you want more agile and coupe then M240 (which I have on order). Currently have i4 M50, too big and lacks soul. But objectively, the best car ever

I have ordered M340 touring. The reason is that i could order tow hook (bikes etc) which is not accessible in M3 touring. At the end day it has less power but its its perfect all rounder with enough power.

That is literally the only thing irking me with my M3 Touring, it would be nice to have it for bikes. Then again, its unhinged, barely caged animal kind of character makes it very endearing. I’m fine with giving up a bit of practicality for that.

Wow no tow on the M3 wow. I don’t like how the screen just stands out on its own. No cover , no cockpit feel anymore not for me . I’m out of bmw

As a Z4 M40i owner I am pleased that its brilliance is finally being recognised. Being a cousin of the Supra gives a massive range of aftermarket tuning and handling options. The chassis, when lightly modified handles 500bhp with ease and getting that 500bhp is very easy and does not adversely affect economy unless used. The Harman Kardon stereo is poor but this is upgradable with plug and play components. The Supra gang are an accepting and friendly bunch too. They appreciate that without the Z4, their car wouldn’t exist. You’ve probably gathered by now that I love my car 🥰

I guess the car that comes closest to the original M car philsophy is the old M2 CS. The next best thing, although heavier, less attractive and less user friendly, is probably the M2. I agree that the Z4 is also a good choice because it offers the extra benefit of being a convertible and drives sufficiently sporty while still remaining a daily driver's car.

Just swapped my F90 for an RS6. Miss the fun of the M but the RS6 is so much comfortable and usable as a daily and looks stunning.

I have an m340i 2022 and had a BMW m240i before that, I like the comfort of the m340i but I miss the rear wheel drive feeling, I feel like the m340i takes a lot of time to react when I stomp the accelerator, I will probably go for an m2 next which is rear wheel drive.

Did you not have it sport + mode in the m340i? They definitely have the engine and Transmission ( I think)

No m440i? I looked at the m340i and m440i today, and the 4 series looks menacing; the m340i looks a bit small and puny.

I can’t decide between an M4 comp and an i5 m60. I know they’re completely different cars but they both drive so good in their own way. The i5 is obviously the better daily but toss them both in sport + and the m4 is WAY more fun to drive. Also despite me living in Los Angeles where chargers are everywhere, ICE is more convenient for a roadtrip. I go out of town to Irvine or up north sometimes with my girlfriend and taking that trip with my model Y is always a hassle because of charging, but would the m4 be able to make the trip comfortably?
