Nice vid. Is is ok to put any tyre dressing on a wet wheel?

Thank you, glad you enjoyed it. With a water based dressing it is not the end of the world if the tyre is still a little wet. For perfect results then you would be best waiting for the tyre to be completely dry but it will make little difference

I'm a bit baffled by the different wash treatment and after-wash treatment of coated or non-coated wheels. Not saying it's wrong, just would like to understand more about the theory behind it as I am about to polish and ceramic coat my Jag alloys. Any/all advice very welcome!

For ceramic or any wheels with a durable coating you simply want a neutral and delicate shampoo (doesn’t have to be wheel specific) for a maintenance wash, this will help to avoid degrading the coating. So every week or whatever your routine might be just use shampoo in a bucket with a mitt or soft brush. You can and will maybe require to get a little more aggressive with your routine every couple of months at which instance I would recommend reaching for a well formulated alkaline wheel cleaner if you find the shampoo is not quite cutting it. Try to keep well clear of any acidic wheel cleaners or tar removers if at all possible. If you do get tar spots on them in the summer just apply a bit of tar remover to a cloth and wipe them off rather than spraying directly onto the coated wheel. Topping the coating up at every wash is also a very sensible thing to do, reach for a ceramic topper or wet coat that you can simply spray on and rinse off. This will help keep the coating protected and act as a sacrificial layer to protect the coating. Hope this helps 😁
