The reason why people my age love Grease 2 is because it was played constantly on HBO when we first got cable. As little kids then, we watched it constantly. And to us kids back then, the first Grease didn’t exist because we were not exposed to it. True story.

It was a lot of fun to work with Patricia and Maxwell and Lorna on Grease 2. The entire cast was great . Pat was a fun director. She referred to those of us who were middle aged as "the over 25s." I was the bowling alley manager in the Score Tonight scene. The sad thing that hurt Grease 2 was that it opened the same day as ET.

Wow! I never knew that Grease 2 opened the same day as ET. STIFF competition. I would have loved to have seen Grease 2 in the theaters, in Summer, 1982; and actually planned to, even though I was 8 years old at the time. I had seen Grease in theaters in 1978, and all of the other re-releases up to 1981, so me and my older Sister were certainly thinking of doing it. To this day, I can't remember why/how we didn't see it. When it came on cable and VHS, We sure watched the hell out of it, then. I STILL want a special edition remaster of the entire soundtrack (inc. the B-sides and unreleased material) on vinyl and CD.

Very nice video. Kind of sad in a way seeing how much it's less than stellar reception damaged Maxwell Caulfield's later career. However I am an avid Grease 2 buff. My girlfriend gripes about me watching so much, but she used to make me watch LOST and secret life of the american teenager (I hate it so much I refuse to capitalize the letters in the title), so a little revenge by Grease 2 is acceptable. Rant - Germany 1982-1983. Very few US movies. Tron and Grease 2 watched bi-weekly back to back for the year, among 7 more VHSs we had. In the past 36 years I've come to see Grease 2 as worthy of the title Grease, even if not as classic as the first. It's not a direct sequel, it's more a continuation of life at Rydell High. Besides Ivy Austin as Francine is a real treat. Francine may have dressed nerdy but she was as hot as any Pink Lady. She was a dance so she had to have had an amazing physique.

Grease 2 was my heart and mind as a kid... ugh, was lovin' it during summertime on HBO. I honestly believe that if they had adjusted the wording in the title a bit, something like "Grease 2: The New Class", then it would have been a diff way for NON-Grease fan audiences to receive it, and would have shaped how die-hard fans of Grease chose to receive it, becuz they would be able to promote it as a whole new chapter but still maintain its unique flavor. I liked Grease, but it didn't hit me hard-as-nails-in-wood like Grease 2. It should be re-released for those of us who are now the die-hards, and for Non-G and even Non-G2 fans... a cult classic that stayed 'based', and unique, and made impact to folks that dug the era and the awesome movie scene. Our kids/grands would somehow get to see/feel what we saw/felt. When something's good to you, the feeling never really goes away. Gotta go Back/Back, Back To School AGAIN!
