We’ve been using Tesla insurance for my wife’s model Y and it has been great. Low rates and when a rock broke her windshield we got it replaced and Tesla cover the cost and cut us a check that arrived in 3 days. Good experience.

I am still hoping to get that in the Netherlands (asap) I pay a premium {on a already premium} rate for over 4 years now Solely because they still do not accept Tesla's anti-theft security level; It is {still} unconventional, so Tesla's level 5 security is (according to them} a level 2 system - despite the data they (and we) have on how insanely solid it is at recovering stolen vehicles & preventing theft in the first place. Also I think; Fair is fair - you drive like an 1d1ot, you'll pay more. I want this so bad, it will safe me (at least!) hundreds of $$ in insurance fees each year Anyway, I'm glad you get to enjoy it Trendy :) -( Please, enjoy it for the both of us )-

I knew a guy that was a contractor and he would buy a new truck every few years. As soon as he bought it, he kicked dents in the panels all over. The dealer salesperson freaked out, thinking he was angry and didn't like his new truck. However, the contractor explained that trucks get destroyed pretty quickly on the work sites. A clean shiny new truck was like a magnet for damage and it was very upsetting and caused a lot of drama with his workers and subcontractors. So he would get it over with by denting the truck himself right at the get-go. He even asked the salesperson to help him put dents in it. "Now," he said, "I can relax and not worry about it."

For the longest time Tesla was not making any money and just improving the product. Diesel engine was perfected around the end of century. That is why they had to change stuff. There is no profit in tech that anyone can build. You have to patent new stuff to make money. Diesel engine with mechanic fuel pump is the most efficient engine and most economical, not to mention most simple and reliable. We cant have that. It was funny when some University guys took 30 year old diesel engine and put cats on it. Suddenly that engine was in spec for the current emission standards. Meaning all computers and tech developed in last 30 years could have been replaced with catalyst converter. @@macioluko9484

Making sci-fi a reality Cybertruck deliveries begin today! - More utility than a truck, faster than a sports car 11,000 lbs towing capacity, 2,500 lbs max payload. Est. 340 miles of range. (Dual Motor) 0-60 in 2.6 seconds. (Tri Motor) - Ultra-hard stainless steel exoskeleton & shatter-resistant Armor Glass Fewer dents, less damage & long-term corrosion. Easy & simple repairs. Armor Glass can resist the impact of a baseball at 70 mph or class IV hail & acoustic glass helps make the cabin insanely quiet. - Steer-by-wire & rear steering Gives you the handling of a sports car & a better turning radius than most sedans. Also, incredible stability & maneuverability for a full-size truck. - 4-corner adaptive air suspension Offers 12” of travel & 17” of clearance. - Plenty of storage 6’x4’ bed that doesn’t need a liner & is big enough for 4’x8’ construction materials. 67 cu ft of lockable storage (additional 54 cu ft available with rear seats folded up), with a Vault cover that’s strong enough to walk on. - Power everything Integrated outlets: 120v cabin power, 120v & 240v bed power. If the grid goes down, Cybertruck can provide up to 11.5 kW of power directly to your home. - Space & comfort like a living room 18.5” touchscreen in the front & 9.4” touchscreen in the back, both with all-new UI. 15 speakers with 2 dedicated subwoofers & distributed amplifiers create a studio quality sound stage-obviously goes to 11.

Sounds like a lot of tech and crap that will not look quite so important when the thing is asked to go long distances carrying or towing a load imo. How much is the bed space/utility compromised when the range extender is fitted? Can it do anything much off road with that range and weight? People sure are caught up in all the bells and whistles aren't they? A noteworthy fact re. 'ground clearance' specs; other manufacturers measure from the ground to the main frame rails and neglect to subtract for differentials/gearboxes/axles hanging down, because their clearance is fixed and part of the unsprung part of the vehicle. The CT has no differentials or straight axles hanging down, it is flat across the bottom. This means the quoted ground clearance for the CT is actually significantly greater than its competitors in that respect.
@mivy2452
@mivy2452 9 ай бұрын
Not a fact. Ground clearance is measured to the lowest flat spot on the vehicle. That is usually the differential. Nobody measures ground clearance by the frame height.

If Tesla car sales ever slow down, all Elon has to do is start financing them himself, at an interest rate of 4%. It doesn't matter what the Fed says about interest rates if you build the cars and you finance the cars. High interest rates have crippled auto sales. People will jump all over a chance to lock in 4% again. Elon wants to make X into a bank, so maybe this could be the start of that as X and Tesla craft a symbiotic relationship.

I’m from Sweden I’m right-wing I own a Tesla I’m still for the collective agreement as they are better than the alternative - that is the law (lawyers). Living here, I am convinced that Tesla will loose on this long term, not the unions. If Tesla didn’t do the best cars in the world, they would already have a problem. As it is now, I guesstimate that they will lose 20-40% sales compared to what they would have otherwise had long term. You cannot fight the unions here without fighting the population you see. To give a perspective, 80% of the engines with a master are unionized and I believe it is even higher among physicists. FYI My Tesla is the best car I’ve ever had, so you can understand why I am sad that they are acting to lose reputation here). You cannot compare the unions in Sweden and the US (I work a lot in the US). The Swedish unions generally work to make companies successful (believe it or not). /Mats

Conservatives are fine with change. Love the new design for sure! Most people (including conservatives) don't actually use a truck as a truck. No matter how nifty it seems like it might be 1) It's way more than what I can buy a basic utility truck for and 2) The range is nowhere even close to what I need to tow a loaded trailer and meet schedule. There's no way I can stop for an hour or more at a time (Yeah, there's not going to be gen4 chargers all over for that giant pack anytime soon) that often. It will be great when they can get these up to either 600+ miles range under heavy load, or get charge times down around 10 real minutes.

I don’t think cost to repair the car is a huge factor in insurance cost. The cost to insure my McLaren is 30% of the cost to insure my BMW which has an MSRP about 30% of the McLaren (meaning the BMW is 9x more to insure per $ of MSRP). The McLaren is the cheapest car to insure I’ve owned. It mostly comes down to how likely they are to get wrecked and hurt others, which might be bad for the Cybertruck (which I have a 4 year old reservation for).

steer by wire… was actually mandated by the government… in order for a pathway to allow FSD their logic is - how would ur car function without FSD…. so require this hence - drive by wire - an old tech - is added in CyberTruck is being used as a spring point for other TSLA tech

I think the insurance is likely to be expensive because a big part of the insurance is covering damage to other vehicles when you hit someone. However if they take into account the effectiveness of crash avoidance systems then it might be cheap. However I doubt that unless it’s Tesla insurance because insurance companies are playing weird games with Tesla cars.

Tesla parts is still more expensive as the company is relatively new and grows 50 prosent annually. So this from Hertz should not be a surprise . Still driving electric is much cheaper than petrol , thus Hertz still heading for a bigger EV part of their car park as the article also shows . The poor resale value is because of their resent prize cuts , which indeed should give them reasons for buying more Teslas now when the prize are lowered. Time will show .
@davidbeppler3032

@@bobbybishop5662 You get your news from CNBC but did not read the article? Hertz Global Chief Executive Officer Stephen Scherr said Hertz is still “committed” to buying 100,000 cars from Tesla. So far Hertz has only bought 35k cars from Tesla. That means Hertz is buying 2X more. Plz define slowing down? Hertz wanted them all faster, but Tesla would not sell them faster. No deals. Hertz is annoyed that resale value on the cars they bought has went down, but they are happy with how long the EVs last. As soon as Tesla puts a governor on how zippy the rentals are Hertz will be over the moon from tire savings. Tesla has not intention of adding a governor to Hertz Teslas. I suggest buying a Hertz used 2020 Model 3 with 150k miles on it for less than $24k. It is still good for another 600k miles. :)
