I have friend who has owned a Shelby Hertz since new. He bought it at Ford dealership after Hertz turned the car back in. He was only 21 at the time so his dad co-signed the car loan for him. The car is in original condition and is driven to car shows from time to time.

In the late seventies, had a friend with a 70 Boss 302 that was immaculate. The dealer he bought it from talked him into selling it back to them because I'm sure they had a buyer looking for one. He sold it to them for a very high price so the end buyer probably paid nosebleed dollars for it from the dealer.

That could be a 78 or 79 grille on that 77 Ford truck. Some 78s had that grille with round headlights. I had a 78 in high school back in the early 80s, f150, 351M/400, auto. Loved that truck wish I kept it. Love the content!

At 5:20 - I remember that back in the early eighties there was a baby bird craze going on and those cars were fetching big money. I see that this black model here is going for little more than back in those days 40+ years ago so that market has flattened out.

I ended up buying a 2007 mustang Shelby GT, black with the silver stripes. It now has less than 11k on it and has never seen rain,snow and never been smoked in. It’s the 4.6l 5 speed transmission but I always think about the 1969 Mach 1!

Your knowledgeable on the Mustangs. How rare is the 67 coupe painted frost turquoise? I never see the color at car shows. It gets a lot attention. I think I will keep it that color.

Be careful ! R in the vin often means built in the San Jose C( Milpitas) assembly plant. If that car is a 69 then vin might start as: 9R05. For example

the restorer in Webster Fl sold an R code that looked like it came off the showroom floor for $65K. Not a single repo part. my friend saw one about 8/10 for 55. his neighbot had until recently super low mile Boss 9 and still have a spare head on his wall

I had a 1969 mustang Mach 1 as my first car and couldn’t find a 69 with the jade green exterior and white interior! It seemed to be rare and had the 351 Windsor with 3 speed transmission. I couldn’t keep it and store it as I needed the money for college. Unbelievable what they’re selling for today!!

The Bullitt Mustang - Around the time Steve McQueen's original 1968 Ford Mustang GT 390-4V/manual fastback in Highland Green sold at auction for $3.4 million, I found a 1968 Ford Mustang GT 302-4V/C6 fastback in Highland Green in Monroe, SD for $12,500 cash. The car was from Colorado and the original owner had repainted it Lime Gold. When I first drove out to this farm to look at the the car, I looked at the Lime Gold paint, I didn't really like the car. Then for a closer look, I crawled underneath to inspect the frame rails for any rust and they were perfect and you could see the Highland Green paint on the frame rails. A rust-free '68 GT fastback in Highland Green, I near soiled myself. Bought it on the spot, came with matching numbers hi-po 302 block and heads.

In 1970, I spotted a '69 Boss 429 on the local Ford dealer's used car lot. It had just over 5,000 mi. on it and they were asking $5000 for it which, being poor, I could not afford. Oh, what that one would sell for these days.

Thanks for the content. I have never seen so many Ford parts and cars. Nice. Most of the Swap meets in TX are GM. I don't discriminate just what they seem to have here. Did you see any 1971 or 1972 Ford LTD convertibles at this swap meet? I was wondering what the 2023 market value ranges are for running and driving non-restored mostly original cars? I rescued a 1972 429, C6 car recently off a Texas ranch, mainly because I had never seen one before. Marti guy says only 566 72 LTD convertibles were made with a 429, C6, and 3.0 rear end.
@jamesharding4056 Жыл бұрын
I "missed" a couple of '71-'72 LTD convertibles back at Spring Carlisle 2011. I hesitated on a brown '71 and then a car flipper bought it before I came back. I believe it had an asking price of $8900. A guy trying to buy my 1966 Buick Skylark never bothered mentioning he was the owner of a '72 LTD convertible that we could have made a trade deal on! That car was kind of "roachy" for $4000. Similarly, I saw a '72 LTD convertible in sky blue in 2012, but I was no longer in the market by that time. Price was also under $10K for a very nice driver.

@@jamesharding4056 I need to travel to find Ford (or Mopar) swap meets for sure. Looked great. I rescued mine because I have never seen one. Did not even know how limited it was until I received a Marit report for it. I do not know the build numbers for 1971 but not a lot. Lots of online web data or Marti can tell us that. As I recall there were less than 4300 total for 1972 then Ford stopped making a full-size convertible. I assume a 71 or 72 with a Factory BBF was a small production number so even smaller today. My old car expert says the "rule of thumb" for old convertibles is about 10% survive until the modern day.
