This is the EXACT car I would like to have. Same color and trim level! Maybe I should purchase the 2025 as the idea of a longer and wider Outback is not appealing.

Love the outback, especially in magnetite grey metallic. Here in Australia we don't have access to the Onyx, nor wilderness - which are my two favourites! The closest variant we have to the Onyx, at least in 2024/25 (this may change in '06) would be the sport or sport xt. Both of which retain chrome window trims, which looks slightly odd granting there's no addition silver or chrome to complement & balance the chrome window trims. If the onyx or wilderness were available here, I'd purchase one or the other in magnetite grey metallic in a heartbeat.

I have a touring XT. I would have liked the touring xt to have a blackout package, so it looked more like the onyx xt. I have to have my ventilated seats, that's why I bought the touring XT and not the onyx. Oh, first. LoL
@haroldbeauchamp37703 ай бұрын
I think this is coming. I’ve read the 2025 Ascent is coming with a bronze package, with black and bronze accents. Bronze packages are making a comeback. Blackout packages have been around a decade now and slowly losing favor with buyers. Subaru seems to be combing the best of black and bronze from what I’ve seen.

@@haroldbeauchamp3770 we shall see. I bought my 2023 4 months ago. So if I traded in, it won't be until at least the 2027 Outback model year.

Looking into buying my first outback. Going back and fourth from this trim to wilderness. So if im planning on getting a tent for on top i should go with the wilderness trim instead ?

Yeah, you’d probably want the reinforced #700 pound rated static roof rails. And I’m sorry I can’t remember if the Onyx also has that rating or not.

@craigo21423 ай бұрын
Sorry to hear it is getting longer. Urban areas don't need more length. Also, when will they do an update to the user interface. It really isn't good. Do a comparison on the crosstrek and outback, sometime. value for money.
@AutomotiveAnonymous2083 ай бұрын
That’s for sure! Our two Subarus barely fit in the garage together as is lol. I’ll keep that in mind once the 25 Crosstrek shows up!!
@nyrocks5580Ай бұрын
Does this trim level still not have available memory seats? If so, it's ludicrous at this price point. You can only get it in Limited and Touring trims, but I prefer the look of the Onyx for an Outback.
@jamesbond597717 күн бұрын
No… no it doesn’t🥲. Got home with my 25 Onyx (coming from a limited 2018) and realized it wasn’t on the door panel.. spent too much time researching for it in the infotainment center. Ludicrous indeed.
@nyrocks558014 күн бұрын
@jamesbond5977, crazy. As far as the infotainment system goes, I was really nervous about it as our 22 Legacy XT is my wife's daily, and she's not tech savvy, but it's been totally fine.

100% right. I have 2 Outbacks, a 2.5 and a 2.4 turbo. The 2.5 averages 24 combined MPG, mostly city and the XT gets 22 with same type of driving. I have gotten 30 MPG in the turbo, but it was on a 5 hour, 8,000 ft descent road trip.

@@TC1Z2L3 the astonishing thing is neither the deal nor the national 800 service center even care one whit. They were completely dismissive. The likelihood of another Subaru purchase is dim.

I have purchased three new Outbacks in a row over the past 20 years. I'll be buying a new vehicle by a different company this year only because the everything controlled on screen is hideous; especially with such a slow interface. Terrible decision by Subaru in my opinion.

@@skateata1he’s saying the new Subarus. All of the climate controls and what not are on a digital screen. I just bought the Onyx XT and personally, that doesn’t bother me at all
@nyrocks5580Ай бұрын
This common complaint gave me pause before we got my wife a 2022 Legacy Limited XT as her daily driver. She's not tech savvy at all, and I thought it was going to be a disaster, but she loves the car and has had no problems with the screen. We did the screen update last year, which most noticeably helped the climate control functionality. That said, I would definitely prefer a smaller screen, more physical controls, and a much better backup camera which sucks.

I don’t mind how the CVT feels to drive, I just wish it wasn’t to excessively expensive to replace if it fails out of warranty. But I hear about way more transmission problems and failures on the forums of other brands than Subaru. But either way in the year 2024 how are all transmissions not overbuilt and bulletproof?! 😅
