I wish GM would at least offer the 5.3 option in the single cab short bed.

My pleasure! That’s awesome, if you were also there yesterday I think I might have actually seen you. I briefly stopped by to borrow a few Silverados for some snow/ice driving impression videos and on my way out I was told there was a gentleman there from WA looking at the regular cab I published last week! Either way, very cool and what an awesome truck! As I mentioned in this video, it was a really fun truck and I wanted a few extra minutes with it before I dropped it off from my initial goal of filming this other video with it. A guy had apparently just about bought it when I brought it back that day, but that deal obviously didn’t go through and for good reason. Enjoy your sweet new truck! 🙂

It is really good that it is a 2.7 turbo max engine, not everyone gives it rough use for what it is made in the v8 version, some might want it for daily use and that way they could use this model and not spend a lot on fuel, this type of pick up.grande are quite comfortable and are very nice trucks.
@AutomotiveAnonymous2085 ай бұрын
A lot of people seem to really like their 2.7! 🤩
@ruffxm4 ай бұрын
A few other reviews mentioned the fuel economy of the 2.7 was not far off from the 5.3. You'd expect an engine almost half the size would have better economy, but the turbo tends to suck more fuel.

I have 2 2022 GMC regular cab short beds with all the options you can get. One has a 3 inch lift and one has a rear suspension leveling drop. The ride is great on both. I love how maneuverable in town they are. I would recommend the 2.7 to anyone.

Lol, that’s a good point! I’m surprised that some of the dedicated truck channels don’t have a system to test that and share how well the truck dynamics look and feel once loaded. My focus is more geared towards performance and 0-60.

It's decent. Starter is sounding like it wants to give up only at 3k. Trans is clunky, not sure if I like the gm frame rust proofing, engine can sound strange at higher rpms with no turbo spool. It's just a strange pickup, but it's also surprising capable off road etc. Just needs upgrades

@AutomotiveAnonymous2087 ай бұрын

@killercan107 ай бұрын
Floor shifter as in manual transmission? Or are you talking transfer case? Manual is obviously a no-go but GM also did away with floor shift transfer cases all together starting in 2019 on the 1500s and 2020 on the HD.
@SWFLSlimJim7 ай бұрын
@@killercan10 nothing as serious as that, I only want bucket seats and not having a column shifter. Hence a “floor” shifter. Perhaps console shifter would have been a better descriptive term.
@killercan107 ай бұрын
@@SWFLSlimJim Ah I see. For whatever reason, GM only pairs a console shift lever with the 10 speed trucks, so LT trim and higher with buckets and console, double and crew cab. 10 speed is 5.3, 3.0 diesel and the 6.2, and the console shifter is shift by wire.

Im seeing the regular cabs with the 5.3 on dealer lots. Can you get the 6.2 or maybe 3.0 duramax?
@AutomotiveAnonymous2085 ай бұрын
No, to my understanding on the U.S Chevy website it’s only the 5.3 or a 2.7. They’re keeping the 3.0 and 6.2 limited to the more expensive configurations and trim levels. 😞
