Just got mine this weekend! I love it! It's really the only suv under 70 that is worth it. X5m is over 75 grand Audi equivalent same think. You would have to go used to get close to ST price

I just bought a Jeep Wrangler High Altitude on 9/9. In less than a month took it three times to the dealer. It’s still there so I am trying to get rid of it. Definitely, after considering various other suvs, I am buying a 2025 ST (If I succeed in giving back the Jeep.) This video helped a lot in my final decision. Thank you.

I’m sorry to hear that! I hope things get resolved quickly! This was definitely a very cool SUV, and it really was more fun than I expected even. But I don’t follow this platforms forums so I do not know what its common concerns or reliability issues are, since every single vehicle has its cons. Best of luck!!

It actually works when you remind us to hit Like on your videos. I always jump over and do it whenever you remind me lol Great videos the only ones I don't watch are all the Subaru videos I don't have any interest in Subies except if you got a hold of a manual transmission WRX. I would definitely watch you beat that thing 0 to 60 lol😊
@AutomotiveAnonymous208Ай бұрын
I appreciate you saying all of this! I definitely film a lot of Subarus because having my Outback Wilderness and a Subaru connection is what I had to work with when I started filming on my channel. But I’m trying to be better at branching out more with the time I have to film! I do have maybe a dozen performance car videos to make public in my membership program. That’s basically my collection of videos to eventually make public during the weeks I can’t film as much. And within that I have a review and driving video of a blue 2014 STI Wagon 6 speed (probably my favorite spec STI) to make public soon! 😉 It was such a cool car, not fast, but cool and felt like such a tuner car with the wide fenders, red gauges, shift light, and turbo boxer rumble!

Another informative review as always. The price is scary. Powerful, comoditious fully loaded Explorer. I'd go for the basic on, maybe one model above it, but not the top of the line. For me two rows of seating is enough. I don't like the lack of physical buttons. Thanks for the review!
@AutomotiveAnonymous208Ай бұрын
Thanks! This was definitely a very fun one to film. I’ve wanted to drive an ST Explorer for quite a while now. 🤪
@Anthony-fd8mh23 күн бұрын
Lack of physical buttons is not that bad if ya like to use the Auto option as if ya do that you just pretty much adjust the temperature, you can even link the seats to the temp so ya don't have to turn them off and on if ya don't want. Also for the price find another 400HP SUV for under 60K. a Jeep will cost ya 70 to 80K and thier company right now is going nuts.

Why are there no hybrid versions in this generation? What would be the reason to rule out those configurations? Considering that the competition does provide those options. Will you have any information on that topic? Good video.
@AutomotiveAnonymous2089 күн бұрын
That’s a good question and one that I don’t have an answer to. I will say some of the hybrids in this class like the CX-90 are performance based hybrids and still get MPG in the 20’s.

It looks good outside. Yet interior lacks physical buttons and knobs. And we are afraid of turbo engines. So we bought the Honda Pilot Touring. There have been a lot of issues prior to this refresh with Explorer.

@tylermacconnell21715 күн бұрын
No, the Explorer doesn’t ride on the same platform as the Lincoln Navigator. The Navigator is much larger and is still body on frame. Also, the 2010 Explorer was also still body on frame. The 2011 model was the unibody.

I get that! This was definitely a very fun 3 row. It also seems to be at least .5s faster than my Outback maybe even .7-.8 in the same DA, so it’s definitely very quick, even stock.

The strap in the 3rd row is to put the seats down, I misspoke it’s for the headrests to put back down
@AutomotiveAnonymous20827 күн бұрын
Thanks for adding this!!
@Anthony-fd8mh23 күн бұрын
Actually in the ST model it is not its for the head rests only the third row is electronically folding up and down. Putting them down they say to pull thew strap but the head rest falls on its own when ya push the button. Coming back up though you have to manually put the head rest back up. On the lower trims ya have to use the strap.
@guillermopacheco500523 күн бұрын
@ you’re right it’s for the headrests that my kids always leave up after they get out the car.

I thought the Explorer was on the same platform as the Lincoln Aviator, not Navigator. The Expedition shares the platform with the Navigator.

Why did you do the 0-60 in eco mode?
@AutomotiveAnonymous20826 күн бұрын
It actually was in Sport mode, there’s the fancy S near the bottom of the screen. If it had performed this time in eco mode, that would have been extra cool! 😎
@Anthony-fd8mh23 күн бұрын
The green color is not actually eco mode and the modes do not change the dash look (which I wish it did) it is actually is one of the colors you can change the dash gauges to. There are like 3 choices Blue, Red and Green I believe. I just left mine on the default blue colors for me I think they look good.
@Anthony-fd8mh23 күн бұрын
Where in my opinion they fell flat is in the dash. Hardly any options for the display and there is no voltage meter or oil Temperature etc. All you get for temps is Coolant Temp and Transmission Temp and they are just bar Gauges. The manual actually says you can use 87 octane and if ya do ya lose a little bit of HP but its something like 3% to 5% which you will hardly notice with 400 hp under the hood. Seeing how it has an all new Control Screen/infotainment center they don't really let ya customize much thru the screen in the settings as far as car features that is. I currently am having a problem with my phone charger which might be the camera bump on my iPhone 16 pro where it will not charge and does not show the charging symbol in the notification area on the center screen. Sometimes it works and sometimes it does not. Ford said they know about it but there is no fix yet, also every now and then my dash will reset and take away any of the pages I have added (you can have up to 7 I think but I only have like 5 or 6) and also the google map system will also reset and take away any route I had planned and this happens anywhere from 10 to 20 minutes after locking the car and walking away. I took it into Ford and they said the old "can not replicate it" so I guess I have to wait till more people have the problem or it gets worse. All in all Its more of an inconvenience so far. When the car is running everything works as it should ( except phone charger, but for that I can still use the USB plugs which charge faster anyways). I have hooked it up to a batter tender so I also know it's not the battery causing the issue either. All in all I still like the car and the power is great. I do wish the drive modes would change the dash look as in the colors or add gauges and things like that, but sadly they do not. You can change the over all color of the dash screen but ya can only choose like 3 colors. Mine also has a bit of wind noise near the windshield but I have taken it to the car wash 3 times now using the touchless option and I have not found any leaks so the wind noise might just be from the mirrors it is minor though as the car is still quite quiet inside and I have notice no creaking or squeaking in mine and seems pretty solid. Anyway these are some things to look out for if ya go shopping for one. Still love the car though. I got a little over 1K miles on mine and I picked it up with 80 on it. Good Luck!👍 One hidden feature that I don't think I have heard anyone mention is the phone charger actually has a fan in it to help keep the phone cool when its charging (when it works LOL)
