PS: Watching film further I know all the DB3 engine stories, their are in my up coming book, having been written by dad! Dickie drove 27 DB3 Coupe' to LeMans 1952. If you watch the film, when Peter Collins pits DB3 for fuel that's my dad re-fueling it! Car DNF'ed due to rear diff failure, the Professor was the problem, as the pinion bearing pre-load was 80-ft lbs! This problem reared it's ugly head at GoodWood with the repaired DB3 from Monaco when during a pit stop Fred Lownds spilled fuel and it went off due to the rear diff being so hot! John Wyer & John King taken to hospital with burns! Dad is seen fighting the blaze. Mum did all of the "Prof", as she called him, letters,etc. He wasn't German, but Austrian
