Wow, there was a hater on two on this one.. I did enjoy it though... Love that wagon... The 4r70W seems to do quite nicely... If I can bring myself to spend the money, I want this trans, and 347 as well.. I think 🤔 after 3 years, this segment is wearing well boys...

Another great video, guys. The clearance problem is just SOP! Nothing in this hobby is ever perfect. Hell, most of the Factory stuff isn't any better. I'd love to do this on the '69 F250 360 / C6, but the Boy wants to keep her as stock as possible. So I'll have to just watch and drool.... Maybe I should just find me a '74 Torino Wagon like my first car. 351C w / C6....Yeah, that's it! Swap the trans, rear, and suspension out of my '08 Crown Vic...You guys are a bad influence! I have enough of these tendencies without your help. Keep up the good work!

I haven't a clue nor the electronics needed to get the right voltage or onow when to set the shift points..any suggestions..the only electronic thing i have is an ammeter.?

Just wish it wasn’t $170 , can get a tps sensor plus pigtail for $40 but now need to find out how to get the rest lol

That pay to play part hurts for sure. I get the cost on the controller, too, but shelling out the coin makes me go ouch.
@billyparker89034 жыл бұрын
Had the very same problems plus one. Extension that inserts inside the sensor wasn't sticking out far enough to actually mate with the sensor itself. Had to modify the mounting bracket to get what it should be to properly work.

@AutoRestoMod6 ай бұрын
As long as the S10 has that type of carburetor on it that TPS will work
@highrzr2 жыл бұрын
You have to be careful with line pressure on the 4r70's & 4R75's. Cranking it up will get you firmer shifts. If it's too high, you'll burn the trans up.

TPS on a HOLLEY!!! 😲😲😲😎 OK, you've probably seen a few, but I never imagined it was possible!!! I'm guessing that if I ran an Edelbrock Carb, they have a Kit for it? I'm really getting excited now! Except.... I would need Cameron to come over and do the Programming. I've had NO practical experience in Computer Tuning. You're also warming me to the idea of maybe getting a WAGON!! 😳 Face it, in 1981, you wouldn't be caught DEAD showing up at School in a Mama Wagon. BUT, now that we're in our later 50's........ The practicality can't be denied - with enough POWER!! 😁 You're giving me ideas DAMNIT! If I can finally get enough to get a Car again, I was really set on a Foxbody Mustang. But then, Wagons probably haven't been BEATEN within an inch of their Lives.... So that's something to ponder. They're generally cheaper than Coupes, right? 😧 Carmine ✈🚂🚙

Yes, there is a TPS for the Elebrock. I perfer Holley only because I have run them since 1981.
@CarminesRCTipsandTricks4 жыл бұрын
@@AutoRestoMod That's funny. I run Edelbrock, because I've run HOLLEYS since 1980!!! (Power Valves!!!😖😖😠) Although I've been told that Holley FINALLY fixed those damn things - that would blow if you even SNEEZED near one!! 😜 The V4 PVs are supposed to finally be blowout proof, but I haven't had any experience with them. Since around 1988, I've always ran Edelbrocks, Autolite 4100s, Carter AFBs, and I've even figured out over many years how to make a Quadrapuke actually Work well - and give surprising Highway Mileage!! 😉

I think the one for the 4L is different. There are a few available I'd try and get one that is compatible with the controller you are using (if it is aftermarket, for instance get the US sift TPS if you re using a US shift controller).

Great video series, I'm in the process of adding a 347 + 4r70w and the quick4 to a 64 econoline. Any tips on troubleshooting the Holly TPS sensor showing 0.0 voltage? I had it working but now someone adjusted the electric choke and it seems to have stopped picking up the voltage. I measured and I'm getting 5.1v on the grey cable going to the 3 wire TPS plug/connector. Thank you very much for these videos and your time.
@AutoRestoMod5 жыл бұрын
Make sure the choke is not set, try a recalibration. Also check that there is some preload on the spring. I'd also remove the TPS and have a look at the plastic blades to make sure they aren't damaged.

Just curious why do you need a TPS on a carburetor, is it for a nitrous oxide system ?

the 4R70W uses a TPS to control the shifts on the transmission.
